fuel in oil !!!
ive had my turbo 2000 my99 looked at tonight by a friend, as im having running issues with my impreza (realy flat when foot to the floor) on further inspection he found fuel in oil and he reckons its down to the maf, just want other peoples opinions on if this is possible, my car has no mods only a back box

It could be an injector stuck open mate which is causing the flatness and also causing bore wash and allowing fuel to get past the piston rings and down into the sump.

Easiest way is to remove the plugs and wind the engine over and watch over each plug hole to see if there is fuel being misted out of the hole more so than any of the other's.
If your not mechanically inclined I would book it in to a specialist to find the problem as it can't be doing the engine any good to have fuel in the oil as it thins it down which will cause premature wear:( |

It's worth a try mate as it could be the maf causing the over fueling issues.

yes he did mate |
just had car looked at by kevin at family car centre in braintree as he done my mot and last service and he is clued up on subarus. He said oil was fine and my mate was talking crap about oil in fuel and advised me that i should get a new panel filter clean out maf and clean out boost solenoid which took me around an hour to do , just got back from taking car on a blast and its spot on.
so problem sorted :thumb: |
get better mates lol

For future reference, if a cylinder or engine is being seriously overfueled it can wash away the oil protection on the bores and knacker your rings.
Happened to a friend of mine many years ago with a (I think) a newly built BDG engine which wasn't setup properly and didn't last one event. |
