Ecu Explorer Need Advice

Hi everyone. I downloaded ecu explorer ,manage to connect everything works. One questions. I found few faults. Ecu explorer got option Reset Ecu. Whichaccording manual will clear any trouble codes that may be currently registeredin the Ecu. The reset will also clear out any learnt ignition timing and fueltrim learning. I am worried about "clear out anylearnt ignition timing and fuel trim learning". I need guys your advice is that something important or not?.Is that wont effect loaded remap software.? Thanks

hmmm, wait for someone else to back me up on this, but pretty sure it makes no difference at all if you delete it.

the ECU has some kind of multiplier-type step-up mode, that after the ECU is reset, it starts off on a low setting. then, as you drive it, it steps it up, and "learns" timing and air/fuel ratio's. if you reset, I don't think it is any different to if you disconnect the battery, and wait for the ECU internal power capacitor to dissipate

Like I say, I think it will make no difference - HOWEVER, wait for someone else to confirm this!!!

You can reset the Ecu without worry. If for example you fill up the tank with some iffy petrol or with 95 when the car is mapped for 98, then the Ecu can pull timing to stop knock. A 'learning' function. When you reset the Ecu it just clears all 'learned' values, it will not affect the mapping itself in any way.

Yeah, but I think the OP is concerned that when doing it via ecuExplorer, that it's not just the normal IAM reset, but a MASTER RESET of the the whole map! :( i.e. is it the correct menu option to use for just the IAM reset/diagnosis procedure?

I have ecuExplorer/cable etc, and haven't used it yet, as I want to know the answer to this, before even attempting it myself!
