Royal-Mint problem

My Dad Bought an expensive coin from the website and paid on the 29th of April (wedding day) the money has gone from the account and Royal Mint say it was sent by NORMAL post :cuckoo: on the 3rd of may, its still not here.

They havent exactly been very helpful.

a couple of questions.

1. can we trace it, is there anyway at all to find where it is?

2. WTF did they send it by standard mail??? beggers belief.

Jamz3k 09 May 2011 06:03 PM

More to the point has your Dad actually seen the coin? The likeness to the couple is absurdly ****.

If it was sent by normal post and there is no tracking number then there is no way of tracing it I'm afraid. :(

Expensive items should be sent via special delivery, which needs a signature.

Keep on at Royal Mint in the meantime, in particular making sure they have the correct address and postcode and if they offer to send another make sure they send it special delivery and ask for the tracking number.

I think he is more concerned about the £110 he has paid.

Jamo 09 May 2011 06:14 PM

it seems absurd to me that the royal mint do not send expensive coins by special delivery? they charge enough ffs.

DCI Gene Hunt 09 May 2011 06:15 PM

£110 for a Will's & Kate coin.... really??

Jamo 09 May 2011 06:18 PM

he collects them, I wouldnt have paid that much personally.

he has a solid gold 20p piece in his collection, I wont tell you what that cost lol.

I'll wager a few pounds more than the 20p it looks like ;)

Jamo 09 May 2011 07:16 PM

Yes a few times more LOL

alcazar 09 May 2011 08:14 PM

Probably worth nearly as much as the 20p with a Scoob and a Cossie on it............to a Scoob driver.

I've got a couple of those in a drawer somewhere if anyone want to make me an offer for one

Jamo 09 May 2011 08:28 PM

ile give you £1 each for them. (£1.20 on ebay)

Boro 09 May 2011 10:06 PM

If you haven't received it and they cant prove you have, which will be impossible, get a refund.

Jamo 09 May 2011 11:13 PM

Prefer the coins as they are now sold out of that particular set.

Leslie 10 May 2011 01:56 PM

I think you will have to keep on at them to either get a coin or the money back. They are responsible for getting it to you.

According to the Royal mint adverts on TV you do not pay for it until you receive it and are happy with it so why was he paying upfront for it?

Jamo 10 May 2011 02:25 PM

definatly paid for it, I also got the same set and they took the cash as soon as it was ordered.

TinyTim 10 May 2011 02:29 PM

I can make him a replica using tinfoil if he gets desperate, let me know.
