Clock on my00

The clock on my00 classic dash doesn't light up, u can see the time is working in bright light but doesn't illuminate. The bright switch has no effect either. Any ideas?

Backlight has gone.

Is the Bright Switch working? Check it is switching.

Yeah tested the bright switch yesterday, I know it aint the end of the world it's just annoying! Do I need another set of clocks or can I fix it?

Unscrew the three screws in the clock surround, pull that out. Undo the three screws that hold the clock to the dash. Feel behind and unclip the three green connectors, they are awkward. Drop down your steering rake and then pull out the clocks. Turn over, locate the big bulb that illuminates the clock/time. Go to halfords and get a replacement or online
Refit it back

Sorted :thumb:

Thanks chap, all sorted now (well sort of). I went to halfords and asked the guy but he gave me the wrong one so I pinched one from the back of my clocks that I thought was redundant and it's now working but I've now got a funny feeling it's the low fuel light, which in this day and age and in a scoob, does come on quite regularly! Hence I will have to get one from somewhere but where is the question? Considering one of these chavvy bright blue led instrument kits off the net! Lol

Do you guys have a description and/or a photo of this illustrious bulb?

They're very similar to this, if not the same.

Well the bulbs fit in place via putting them in the hole and twisting them. Perhaps if you were to take the bulb out, put it back in and twist it left and right a few times it would clean the terminals/connections as I am guessing that when you turn the bulb that is when it makes contact with the board. There may be a build up of dust/debris in there, or maybe the bulb has worked itself loose??? Just grasping at straws!

A blown bulb can be "knocked" back into place sometimes. A jolt can touch the broken filament back together. for the cost, and if it bothers you, you may as well just replace it.
