Buying a budget PC Tower, advice please.

Currently use a couple of years old Hp dv6000 laptop for work & at home. But need a cheapish Pc tower for home that the Mrs can use & 4 year old daughter can learn on. Hence don't want to spend too much on it in case its broken by the little one!! Dont need to do gaming on it (PS3 does that ;) ), just basic use with photo storage & some editing on e.g Photoshop Elements & Lightroom. Already got a fairly new 24inch widescreen HP monitor ready to use.

Got these few in mind, any opinions:

Or any others??

Thanks :thumb:

Ricky I have an old one sat under the stairs if you want to give that a go, can dig it out when I get back this week and cleanse it of all the unwanted software - can even throw in an old Photoshop CS2 (iirc)

Got an 80GB and a 120GB hard drives on it - if it doesn't work for you, you've lost nothing:D

rickya 08 May 2011 08:45 PM

Dont you need it John??

We replaced it a while back with something better as the kids needed more processing power. As long as you keep it simple it'll be okay - it had a new motherboard and some extra RAM about 4-5 years ago - like I say give it a try if it's just for the little'un to break:D

PS - got an old tramploline if she wants that too - I'll give you a bell when I get home Thurs/Fri sometime:thumb:

Jura with the Barebone Bundle all I would need to get in addition would be a Hard Drive, DVD drive, keyboard & mouse. Or is there anything else I would need as well?

What about this one?
