Obviously in a safe location, can they be done and if so how?

Steve

WHY??????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????

Pete

Steve vRS 19 April 2002 10:32 AM

Cause I love paying for new tyres!

carpet 19 April 2002 10:32 AM

Yeh why would you want to do that ? why ??

Olly 19 April 2002 10:33 AM

Sure, if you're in a safe location.

Those sugary bits can be a nightmare to hoover off the bucket seats though.

And watch for jam running down your front.

pslewis 19 April 2002 10:33 AM

Go to the FunFair and spend £200 on the Waltzer11 ;)

On http://drive.to/ish I believe that there is a good video of someone doing exactly that, albeit in a classic shape scoob and on an airfield - So yes if you so wish it can be done.....

Jolly Green Monster 2 19 April 2002 11:21 AM

Did you need a new set of tyres and a new diff then?

Next you'll be asking about handbrakes turns?? :)

I can be done..... our very own SDB did it for a few hours... :)

JGM :)

astraboy 19 April 2002 11:28 AM

One of my mates in an sti5 has got it down to an art. he can sit there on the spot as the car turns on its gearbox.
Eats tyres at a furious rate though but it very, very impressive to watch.:cool:
I have been trying it on Granturismo and you really have to provoke the car though. I roll at 10mph yank the handbrake till its sliding round, then hit the gas. If you get it right the car will spin on the spot with no movement.

:D

Andy Porter 19 April 2002 11:33 AM

Do it on Grass steve, much easier on tyres and clutch..... Just rev to 4000 RPM with hard lock on and dump the clutch, if its try ing to ' steer ' then give it more gas......

Wait till it snows.

I did a few when it snowed at xmas good fun. Not much stress on the car I think. Just drinks fuel furiously.

Maybe I'll just watch my mate do them in his new EVO then instead of joining in!

Yes!!!!

LG John 21 April 2002 12:41 PM

Did it in an A4 Quattro  was in the snow in a big car park and it was lots of fun. She spun on the spot and was turning pretty fast - mate almost chucked

Oh and the donuts were good fun too ;) :D

There are a few Doughnuts on here, but i'm not sure how many are in Subaru's, mostly Fords me thinks. RUN 4 THE HILLS :)

DanTheMan 22 April 2002 04:53 PM

don't know about handbraking into a donut on an impreza though because the car will be off boost and may just bog down :( on the lancia i just rolled up dipped the clutch (while still rolling) fed in the lock, booted it and released the clutch. Brutal I know but it worked and cost me alot of money :o
