Red nuts, what to do about locking?

Hi

Thinking about fitting some D1 spec (type) nuts to my car, however what do you do about a locking set, and matching them up colourwise, I'm certainly not going to put some nice red wheel nuts on my rims without a locking set to accompany them.

D1 etc do not seem to do a locking kit to match.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I've got them on mine, with normal silver locking nuts, mine are red too and the locking nut stands out like a sore thumb so will watch this thread cheers....

I bought a full set of nuts and painted them along with my callipers a custom colour. You can get good results as long as you take your time and do many light coats. And use a good heat resistant metal lacquer. Should work out cheaper than buying a new set of D1 spec nuts. Just a suggestion though!

You might want to consider these, they come with their own socket adapter which is set specific. Or as above, Mags is on the ball for wheels and accessories.

With Rays lightweight lock nuts you can barely see the difference with the lock nuts: http://www.superhids.co.uk/rays-ligh...wheelnuts.html

just had to replace my d1 spec nuts as the thread had gone on a few of the nuts and they had twisted out of shape. recommend u look for alternatives as they had only been on the car for a year. you pay cheap you get cheap. they looked nice though :)

Cheers guys, the ones from Demon Tweeks look perfect, there's no way I can justify over £100 on a set though so £30 is spot on!!

Just need to make my mind up now if red will look good or chavagainst my dark Turinis!!

Thanks again

I bought some of those red nuts from ebay, they weren't from demon tweeks but looked exactly the same. Anyway, the red paint started to peel off within 2 months  So I'm back to standard nuts now.
