The 340lph pump is the same as what puma speed sell for £200

maydew 28 April 2011 10:52 PM

been using one for over a year @340,very quite compared to walbro pumps.

apparently the casing dont corrode unlike the walbro do too.

Imprez'd 29 April 2011 06:00 PM

Does this come as a kit with all stuff needed for installation or just the pump?

Rob Day 29 April 2011 07:26 PM

I wouldnt have thought there is much in the way of a kit to fit one of these. Also even for a novice they are very easy to fit, basic tools like a screw driver, sockets or spanners. Usually a case of unbolt the rear seats, remove the boot cover plate, unbolt the fuel assembly and electrical connector, twist and remove the carriage that holds the pump, unclip the pump, unlip the filter, reverse all the above ;)

Yes rob very easy fit and all buyers will recieve an email pdf fitting instructions anyway.
And yes these are quieter than walbro ones as these have a better bearing in them

Yes they come with fitting kit but not much needed as its just a case of the original plug plugs straight onto the top of the HRC pump

The 290lph is rated to 650BHP so would leave you plenty of extra for later mods

scoobsy 01 May 2011 10:15 PM

whats the difference between 01/07 wrx and 01/07 sti 290-pump??

si2000 01 May 2011 11:34 PM

I presume these are all the same size as the walbro 255?

Are these proven for reliability at say 500bhp for a fair few thousand miles?

Genuine questions as ill be wanting one if they are.

Cheers

No difference. just listing models so people can select what they have. otherwise you get a lot of questions asking "does it fit "

Never measured a walbro myself but i would assume yes. These are a few mm longer than the oem pump. You need to trim a slight amount off the bottom of the hose you connect the pump to so it fits in its holder

The 255 are rated to 585bhp so yes, although i would fit the 290 which is rated upto 650bhp so its not ruuning close the the maximun rated duty cycle but thats personal choice. As for reliability they are backed by a 2 year warranty which is double the walbro warranty. Oh and these are made by NipponDenso so manufactured by a top company as well. HRC's own scooby has been running one of the 255's for 6 years and i believe its just a tad over 500bhp.

One thing to point out though a twin pump setup may be a better choice, either in tank or external. HRC can supply both. They Recommend twin pump setup when your going upwards of 600BHP
