4 cam 16v engraved on the heads and subaru turbo on the cam cover?

The reason I ask is i'm looking at a engine which i'm told is a subaru turbo engine out of a 1998 model. My 94wrx has the said above written on it but this engine does not.

Is there anyway to tell for sure this is a turbo engine and not a sport? I don't want to hand over cash without being cirtain.

Dudes surely someone on here has a uk spec sub and can check if it says the above on the cam cover and heads for me.?

I would check for you only I have a MY96 and it is about 200 miles away at the minute.

Try looking in the Gallery section as a few people put pictures of there engine bay in there... or perhaps the for sale bit! :)

My MY96 has 4cam 16v written on from memory but my brother's MY97 (that I'm using at the mo) has nothing written on if that helps.

Get the engine number and be cheeky and ask a Subaru dealer, tell him/her there's a pint in it for them. :)
