I would just keep teh standard filterbox in place, maybe with an uprated (but non oiled) filter, and call it a good'un.

Do-luck panel filter or K+N Panel filter as recommended by top tuners. See below:
http://www.sumopower.com/news/view/8...st-of-the-best Have just ordered one for mine :) |
simon from jgm said the standard air box is restrictive on v3/4s thats why i ask, ive already got a panel filter , none of this gear is on my car yet, neither is the engine -lol but i want all the bits ready so i can get it sorted in one go.

Ok i wasnt aware of that. Hmm will need to look into this as i have just changed subarus again to a v4 sti type r and ordered a do-luck. On 7 imprezas (inc v3+4) I have always been advised to use the standard air box with one of these panel filters. Bob Rawle recommended to stay away from the k+n typhoon and the HKS. He said the Roger clark one was best if i really wanted to fit an induction kit. (These recommedations were for a blob, so might be different for the v3/4s)?? |
i do know the mafs on 5 and 6s are unreliable and with cone filters are not recommended but v3 and 4 s are more reliable. yep i have seen a roger clarke one for cheap even though they do use k+n filters anyway
