HKS exhaust help

hi all, i have a HKS Hi-Power exhaust on my car which i want to take off and replace..now, ive been looking on the net and as far as i can make out this exhaust is a 3" cat back system can anyone confirm this?? i was under the impression it was a 2.5" one but i cant seem to find a 2.5" system listed anywhere. also im unsure if i have the standard downpipe fitted now either unless the HKS system narrows to 2.5" :brickwall can anyone help please

mine is the super dragger as you know.lol, the rear section is 3" and the middle section tappers down to 2.5" to meet up to the standard downpipe. i would of thought it would be the same.

i hope so...although the standard dp uses a doughnut type gasket to conect to the centre section but i read that the hks system uses a flat type gasket which is another reason im unsure about my downpipe being the standard one... how can i check this?

mine was a flat gasket for standard downpipe to middle section. has it still got the cat in the downpipe? i changed all mine for a full 3" turbo back. I will see if got any pics of it on the phone.

yes it still has the cat in the dp

I would say its the standard one then. I havent got pics on my phone. Mine didnt blow with a flat gasket on it. I am now running with out one in there at the moment.lol

Also, dont forget the HKS/Blitz exhausts have different angled flanges, the bolt holes are at 9 and 3 oclock, whereas the standard flanges are at,i think, 7 and 2 oclock (been a long time since i ftted a standard flanged system LOL)

A blitz nur spec r will fit to a std downpipe with a cat in,it will also fit to a decat downpipe which narrows to 2.5 inch by using a ring donut gasket.
If you have a 3' decat downpipe then there is no need for the donut gasket, you can simply use a flat gasket , i know as i have fitted/taken off a blitz, and a vortex to replace with the std oe exhaust. in the last 4 weeks

sorry, didnt make myself clearer,as i was going on the other thread by the o.p

If you have an HKS OR blitz full system and want to use different back boxes, this is what i meant, the HKS and Blitz Mid section has the 9 o clock 3 oclock backbox/midsection joint (not on about d/p flange)

so,if you want to fit another backbox to the hks/blitz midsection, you cannot fit say, a standard vortex backbox to the hks/blitz mid section (apart from them being 3",the flange holes are different)

Pic of my old HKS system (backbox/midsection joint) you can see the flange joint just below the Diff
