Juddering

Hi all, new to scooby net as you could gather with no posts ;)
couldnt find a welcome post so i didnt post

I recently brought a 94 classic 2L sport 4wd wagon uk model with a facelift
the issue i have when above 30mph and i head over a dip,pot hole man hole etc etc or turn either way of my steering and also when applying brakes
after hitting a bump it judders Like S*** any idea what it could be??

ive read many saying about clutch judder mainly in secound when cold,
i have no issue's with that, this thing happens all the time after hitting a bump. and im over 30mph

it feels like i have no brakes and it gets worse when corner'ing at speed on the motorway.
its had both front pads replaced due to no padding, but i have no idea whats causing the judders.

any comments causing this would help me in the right direction as im puzzled.

MANY thanks in advance if i get replies.....................

possible engine or gearbox mounting?

rogos 23 April 2011 03:32 AM

sounds like one of the planetary gears in the gearbox differential may have some teeth missing. my brothers car did this, it drove fine in a straight line but when cornering or over bumps where one wheel needed to rotate faster than the other it juddered like hell and that was down to a broken diff.

Hi fella its not all the time corner'ing,
its eg: i accelerate on corners i feel well dont feel the whole front end shakes
it scared the misses but i assured her ide get it sorted lol...

if im picking up speed over bumps it dont do nowt but when i dont have my foot down and im just rolling or somthing bang its doing it again...

i took it on a carpark last night too mess about with it,
i put my foot down and and turned either left or right and it shaked like s*** so i dunno. im gonna check the mounts first and go from there.

might end up taking it to the local subaru guy poleposition see what they say..
cheers
