You need to be a paying member in order to sell goods on Scoobynet, that's why a moderator would have removed your thread.

Kieran_Burns 22 April 2011 03:06 PM

You have to be a paying member to advertise items for sale on SN - any posts like yours are removed.

Who makes the money from SN then?:wonder: Similar sites run on a NON-profit basis.

Kieran_Burns 23 April 2011 11:40 AM

The paying status was added as a method to cut down on the scams from poor sellers.

Yeah true but the MLR and SIDC have memberhip advantages such as access to track days and show stands. As far as i can see SN has no benifits of paying money except to line someones pockets:wonder:

The company that runs the site (which isn't me btw)

That's fair enough too, there are idiots out there, out to make a fast buck with some rubbish items or even non delivery of items but as previuosly mentioned what's wrong with locals in a local area section offering things to the Guy's they know and trust :wonder: SN hasn't got a responsibility for what people buy, buyers choice at the end of the day. It does save us on post etc if we can meet up and help each other out.........

To be honest I can see the point about local sales, but it is worth paying the fee just to block the adverts. ;)

As has happened in the past people join, flog some parts and then disappear from the face of the earth but this has not eliminated fraud - I think IB should do more when a problem does arise. :)

Hence the Yank adverts.

Kieran_Burns 24 April 2011 04:03 PM

Just to politely remind people that the rules don't change overnight :) You still have to pay to sell on the site and only links to the main For Sale thread are okay in here

mike watkins 24 April 2011 04:32 PM

i sometimes find it very hard to find stuff 4 my impreza so if we can just post our unwanted items it would make our lives a lot easier

Silver Scooby Sport 24 April 2011 04:49 PM

I know it may seen awkward with local for sale stuff.... and I'm included in that but it has to be the same right across the forum or there will be for sale threads in every regional area on here.

Yes but unfortunately or not, if you want to post up For Sale / Wanted items on Scoobynet then you have to pay the fees and post the items up in the right section.

Not wishing to sound rude but if I have to pay fees in order to sell on here then why should a non paying member get away with it for free?
