My Impreza Re-trim and DEEP clean (pic heavy)

Started re-trimming my Impreza, only done the door panels today, gonna do the headlining with some other material and crack open the spray paint for some other bits and pieces :-)

Along with doing the panels, i also got the interior out and got the carpet cleaner out, and cleansed the seats to get rid of the ciggy smoke smell, and to clean them! its a whole lot better! you wouldn't believe how much gunk came out of the seats.

Starting with the gunk.....

Then a couple of working pics......

And then on with the re-trimming....

Interesting choice of trim there!
I guess it keeps the nipper happy though eh?
And it could be worse, you could have trimmed it
with peppa pig or even spongebob square pants :lol1:

I'm seeing stars. :D

MattyB1983 21 April 2011 12:24 PM

Not the material I would of used, but hey. Nice work though fella.

astra_dave 21 April 2011 02:45 PM

What material would you have used mate? N cheers :-)

scoobyd00999 06 May 2011 08:57 AM

just out of interest how did you trim the panels, are they glued down and just cut around the edges or can the panel be removed.

Great job but I am not showing my girls this as I had enough trouble when I painted the wheels black and not pink

astra_dave 06 May 2011 12:12 PM

removed them as shown, cut material down and stuck to the panel, the trimmed off excess with a stanley knife.

It's different I'll give you that. Newxt up though, get rid of those GOD awful rear lights :(

astra_dave 06 May 2011 08:58 PM

them GOD awful rear lights were meant to be the 1st things to go! weather should be spot on tomorrow, so i'm gonna refit the standard ones, and modify them to have a fog light on both sides rather than just the right.

cheers, i used spray glue from Hobby Craft. and stuck it on to the material already there, so it can just be peeled off. and glue cleaned up.

i'll dig out my paperwork when i get a spare 5 mins, until then, best bet is to start your own thread, chances are it will get more views than this one.

Hi Pete, if yours is a UK car and I suspect it is as you describe it as a Turbo 2000 then it'll have two separate immobilisation systems. It'll have the Japanese factory fit category 2 compatible system that uses the transponder in the key and a Sigma M30 category 1 alarm/immobiliser (which were installed by the importers after the cars arrived in this country). Hope that helps and of coruse the above assumes the factory fitment is still in the car and hasn't been replaced. The fobs will be blue and have a single button if it is the M30. :thumb:
