Scooby Sport tweaks - Stage 1
It didnt take long before I started fettling and making a few changes to the sport and it has only been a week !!
There is a lot to do on the car and whilst I have no set plan of what to do and when, I have just started on some areas that needed doing and some bit which cropped up. This is one of the latter :) My mate Paulo had some STi springs and 2 pot calipers/discs/pads left over from his Colin McRae 555 and was very kind to donate them to a worthy cause. This is how it started out http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/97993ead.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/626bb9ca.jpg Wheels off to see the knackered 1 pot sliders http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/7ec9243f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/d09e4ab5.jpg Then with me expertly telling Paulo how to do it ;), he set about swapping the old discs for the larger spec ones and calipers http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/10cbe5dc.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/c2bbf9ee.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/9d0f6a2d.jpg I couldnt resist cleaning every part that came off even though I was described as a tart :lol1:. All washed and painted even though you wont see them http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/3a459e54.jpg On http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/bb7f2c44.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/18622761.jpg And finally how the car looks now with the change in ride height http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/9459040e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/8e37f27e.jpg Oh and the eagle eye readers will notice the Sport decals have gone as well, I have to thank my good lady for that. She set to on the front wing decals and the ones on the back. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/28734ab4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/6beb55bd.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...s/28e50031.jpg |
I'd forgotten just how much room there was between the caliper & wheel before we started! I knew the new brakes looked better (the single pots were knackered) but I'd not really noticed the difference in the clearance.
You forgot to take a photo of my mod ;) The best bit of the car IMHO :nono: |

You can't beat a bit a fettling....!
Keep up the good work both doing a grand job . |
Yep :D Car looks much better already :) Lots more to do though :)
|
Thats a nasty bump on the front...!
|
Also managed to give the car it's first clean on the outside, clean of the wheels. Nothing major to report as the light was bad and it was only a start before I give it a proper 2 day clean with paintwork correction
Quick shot of the foaming stage http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...e0db025a-1.jpg Gearknob replaced and white clocks from my old scoob :thumb: |

By the way thanks for cleaning the wheels on the M3 earlier, shame I thrashed the crap out of it and made them dirty :lol1: First time I've thrashed it since last year!
|
They better not be dirty already, go out there and lick them clean
|
I'm sure the dirt will just fall off now :lol1: Using my filthy 555 tomorrow instead :D
|
It will dont worry :)
Enjoy :thumb: |
Enjoy....I'm not really looking forward to another long motorway journey to be honest, they are so bloody boring!

Cheers mate :thumb: |
looks good, my first scooby was a sport - most of the changes were cosmetic but I loved it and cherished it for 4 years until someone drove into the side of me and wrote it off :(

Just bought one of those bumpers in that paintcode, from Doncaster Motor Spares, now known as MotorHog.
Paid £85 for it, it came with foglights, (sold for £56) wedges and clear indicators. So the bumper cost me £29:) Give them a try, it's web-based, you search a part, they e-mail you a price. |
