Sport Cat being fitted on saturday - to map or not to map

Hi Guys,

My car is having a 3" exhaust system with Sport Cat fitted on saturday by Prospeed in Cardiff :luxhello:

Can't wait to get it done, but need a bit of advice on if its safe to run the car without a remap for the new system for a month or 2.
I can't get it remapped straight away as funds will not allow it this month, but its my birthday the end of may so hoping to have the funds available by then to have a remap with bob rawle or JGM.

My car is a Version 5 wagon so what are your thoughts on not remapping it straight away for the new exhaust and sport Cat.

Bit of a daft question perhaps but this is my first impreza that i've modded and don't want to end up damaging my engine or turbo and know many of you have gone through the process so can speak from experience.

Thanks in advance guys

it's a bit of pot luck on the de-cat/sports cat.

My old 99UK didn't like having a de-cat, had to change the boost pill as it went nuts and was going from 1.3bar to -0.5 whilst accelerating, felt like a massive hic up

Others have had no problems and enjoyed the extra power and faster spool of turbo

Guess i'll find out on saturday if my car will like it or not.

Will look out for the hiccup when accelerating after fitting as not got a boost gauge yet.

Try an email to Bob Rawle - he will advise you - no doubt ;)

Id defo get a boost gauge fitted though as you'll want to see if the boost starts creeping etc You may not always feel it when driving

1.4 bar will cause a hiccup in the form of fuel cut on a version 5 impreza.:thumb:
