EJ20GDW5HE GC8-040569 ..long story short, was told my scooby was a 97 wrx v-limited import but a friend told me hes pretty sure its a 96..id rather it be a 96 coz the 97 can't be remapped. Cheers guys |

Legend!!its been doing my head in!!!
She has v-limited badge so must be 1 lol. one more question, i need a new lambda sensor for a decat downpipe i fitted any ideas were i can get one at a good price mate? |
Does yours have the little angled intercooler and the individual coilpacks on plugs? (It should do)...
|
Don't think there was a V-Ltd WRX only.
There was the MY96 dark blue STi Version II "555" special edition - but code would be GC8C4ED. Plus there was a MY96 Type RA STi Version II "V-Limited" - but code was GC8C4DD. So I expect someone has stuck those badges on...??? |
Yes the intercooler is at an angle and the plugs seem quite bulky at the top so could have individual coil packs but not sure?? What does this mean?
EJ20G DW5HE - this is my engine code and its coming up online as wrx v-limited?? |
Check out catherineandken.co.uk they have a full list of models etc..
|
Bump..
|
Yeah, you have an early phase 1 car, so that's all that matters. :)
Your GC8C48D code would indicate that it's NOT a V-Limited, as pointed out. |
i have same codes,
i have a 95 wrx v limited on a 96N plate, colour should be 53c. 1000 were made each year they won the rally championship, i believe 500 were blue and 500 were white. on the front seats should be an emblem stating what year it is celebrating the rally manufacturers championship they won. i have also contacted subaru and have confirmed my car was manufactured in 1995 but they cant tell me what month. 0121 5222000 will get you customer services, ask for technical dept and ask all you want about your motor. they should have the engine number amongst other things although some info gets lost during import. |

Happy days...So lets confirm here i have a 1996 WRX V-Limited feather white 260bhp??Man this car is gonna be the end of me lol..i have another thread open about my lambda sensor problem if you wouldn't mind clearing that up for me to:notworthylegend
|
going by your chassis number mine was banged together 415 cars before yours, they were made towards the back end of 95. the date on my v5 is 28/2/96, thats the date it was sold in japan. ring subaru and they will tell you when it was made. mine still has original engine in it.
i also have trim code 528 and option code 65c, and subaru can tell you nothing about them, lol. its a z4 ecu, as stated above its 260 ps. |

If you need a new one, you can get replacement O2 sensors from Just Lambda - Bosch 3 wire for the Classic. Can't remember if it's product code LS01 or LS02. I think you need to cut old one off near the plug end, and splice in these Bosch ones.
However, if funds are not tight, I'd personally get an OEM Subaru one, complete with plug etc. They are pukka, and don't break up, and should last 10-15 years or so. The MY93-96 cars O" sensor is located in the driver side header section underneath the engine. If you get on your hands and knees yuo should see it protruding out from the header heatshield... |
Il hit photobucket and post some pics up thanks guys job well done:notworthy

Yeah, the EGT sensor is located immediately after the cat in the d/p. So O2 not broke then.
Now's the time to spend on Walbro, K&N or Green panel filter, NGK PFR 7B plugs, decat d/p (won't have to get a replacement EGT sensor then ;)), and a bespoke, SAFE!, remap. And you'll have around 280/280 with much improved drivability and throttle response, etc. As said, get ESL Live - MAfless! :norty: - fitted mapped by JGM or dynamix. Both can travel to YOU! |
Your a legend mate thanks
