This is gonna sound like a strange question, but does anyone know if new age shocks are longer that the ones on a classic?

I only ask as I tried fitting my new bilstein shocks today, but the front seem to be about 3-4 inches longer than the original item.

Any ideas?

See if the old rods will pull out. They may be fubar'd.
