BUGEYE WRX REMAP

Hey people erm i recently bought a wrx bugeye on a 'Y' Plate and i was wondering is it mappable on the original ecu? Also ive got a induction kit with the cold air intake and a aftermarket backbox so erm what gains will i be looking at after a simple remap? I was told they're 215 standard and i had a C70 2.3 T5 not so long ago before writing it off but the subaru seems to be a little underpowered than the volvo? Also i read somewhere that the best 'bolt on' mod is a manifold but i'm afraid of losing the rumble or can i get some good unequal length ones for a decent price?

Any input is welcome

Hi there your ECU is mappable like Ecutek(£550 excluding VAT) or Opensource(£300-£350 including VAT)
For Ecutek you can contact Simon@JGM,Bob Rawle,Andy F.
For Open Source you contact Duncan@Race Dynamix,Rich@FB Tuning,Neil@Slowboy Racing etc.

The standard ecu can be mapped no problem.

270hp and 270ftlb is achievable on the standard TD04 turbo.

Drop me a PM if I can be of any assistance.

Well worth it even on a std car - I'd go filter and exhaust first though if you want to fiddle with the manifold get yours ported and wrapped, no even for tubular headers until in the 400BHP region.

I'd make sure you remove the up-pipe cat as well as this really affects spool on the Bugs. As mentioned above expect iro 270 BHP (mine was 275 on a Powerstation stage 1)

I have one question as its been buzzing through my head before i go with the remap... Is it safe to run my induction kit with the original MAF or is it going to give me problems? Is there even any increase in power with a induction kit rather than a performance panel filter i.e K&N?

I would say, don't brother with induction kit at moment, fit good panel filter and you will be OK.In your current tune i would sell induction kit and buy panel filter.
But if you want fit induction kit on your car,yes will be safe, but without tune i would don't recommend.New age MAF are lot stronger like classic MAF.

Is there any other software available I heard you can remap standard ecu with a programme called openecu.

Open ECu is Open Source remap,in one word.
