if you want reliability then you should get another newage sti, it's the only one that didn't let you down.

juggers 14 March 2011 11:39 PM

You always gone for uk spec cars? The Jap new age cars are bulletproof!

Is this tested in Bradford ?:lol1:

More often than not it's owners that let their cars down by expecting too much ;)

bonesetter 14 March 2011 11:45 PM

DC5 did you say?

The Focus ST is a nice car but it never got my juices flowing, for the money I'd get an E46 M3 if it floats your boat because there's not much in it money wise and it's much more exciting to drive. I have the E46 M3 but it's my classic V2 sti that really excites me on a blast, the ST never came close. It was quick but not exciting :(

Do you not trust it now you've had it rebuilt properly? What problems have you had in the past with them?

KickboxingCrazy 15 March 2011 01:07 AM

get a DC5! ive always wanted one

bighead 15 March 2011 01:34 AM

DQUOTE]

exactly once you own scoobies other brands just do not excite (unless you go the italian route)
all the cars that i have own over the years...its the P1 that i've kept the longest(still have it , will never sell it ).
In fact I actually prefer its over my current ride !!

stuart148 15 March 2011 08:12 AM

yes i will trust it , as im doing it propley and will last years , but just fancy a change , ill prob regret it and get aother subaru just like i have in the past
done the 400bhp mr2, the 380bhp evo 6 , the saffie cossie
all ways wanted a escort cossie , but there even more of a money pit than subarus
the only car iv never had any problems with was a ctr

i dont know what to do , will just have to wait till i get it back

what would people say my p1 would be worth
with all the mods and rebuild running 352bhp

bonesetter 15 March 2011 08:45 AM

Sounds nice. Got any pics?

Grunty 15 March 2011 09:25 AM

DC5 is a good choice mine has been bulletproof. Mileage is a little high now but still no issues to report. Only reason I am getting rid is because i have had it 2 years and fancy a change.

thunder8 15 March 2011 10:58 AM

A little lesson i learn,t from my younger brother if possible lol

he had a mr2 turbo with air filter and full stainless and d.v

i had a standard saff cossie,

but got power hungry so from 220 bhp i went to 350bhp for about £500 as some parts were already fitted ,
dam thing spent more time at harvey gibbs then what i drove it and i maxed out 1 loan £8000 on it had to sell in the end to get something more pratical at the time but 5 years later my brother still got his mr2 and apart from serviceing all he had was a bumper as he hit a fox and clutch.

i got my scooby last year for a bargain price and apart from a full scorpion zorst and green filter and a battery (bloody winter) she has never ,she still not let me down done about 4000 miles just had a £400 service new cambelts, pulleys, plugs, oil, oil filter, alt belt, power steeting belt and aircon top up she still going fine.

yes i want more power ,yes i want a remap,but i keep remembering my bruv`s mr2

the more you fxck about with them the more they brake ,the more £££££££ you spend the more pissed off you get and then sell .

so you have to compromise and as a 400bhp scooby over takes you at warp speed and you start thinking about extreme mods ,3 miles later in the layby is the warp speed scooby with a AA tow truck as he broke something and you keep poodling along in your 220bhp scooby .

who would you want to be a bloke who can only talk about owning a 400bhp scooby as it sits in his garage busted and saving up to fix it or a bloke who arrives at the meeting in a scooby saying i spent ££ in on servicing
and as you go home in it the the bloke with 400bhp wish``s his was running.

thats my thoughts anyway

rossyboy 15 March 2011 11:08 AM

We're also looking to sell our DC5 shortly.

52 plate in White, 41k miles, only owners since import in '07. Just had new discs and pads all round.

£8750 probably.

Let me know if you want to know more :)

Hot Focii aren't without their troubles either (cracked liners, turbo's & 'boxes), and I'm just not sure I could bring myself to buy a Renault

I'll send you some more info tonight. No recent pics as its not "prepped for sale yet". Weather hasn't been kind enough of late to allow a good clean and polish.

Erm, plenty on here still fine at 400+ bhp... two years so far !

dunx

P.S. It's 500+ that the trouble really starts... :lol1:

stuart148 15 March 2011 04:50 PM

ye 400 is a perfect road car

use tobe every ones aim , now people are wanting 5/600

initialD 15 March 2011 04:58 PM

i think in terms of reliability and performance as a package , honda type r in any form . no turbo to worry about ! but when that big power 4wd is running and sounding better than any other car out there ! you cant beat that grin it puts on ya face :thumb:
