Impreza Sport project "murdered out"

Hi all, not had an Impreza for a while and was looking the other week and found a 97 sport so decided to have a play around with it.

Heres how she stands atm only things i've done is fitted the splitter, Fitted 8000k HID lights, used a piece of etched effect vinyl to make the rear lights look like sti lights and fitted a cd player.

Things i've got ordered are

Orange LED side light bulbs (US Style)
Unequal length headers
Facelift grill
V6 sti bonnet with 22b side vents and large scoop
Getting a full system all the way thru and may change the silent hi power for a nice Jap can i have sat here
High level spoiler

Im getting her in the bodyshop in the next couple of weeks and im going to spray the whole car satin black along with the wheels having a refurb and also having them done satin black.

If anybody has seen another murdered out impreza please post it up so i can get some ideas, thanks for looking

What does "murdered out" mean??

scooby-jib 08 March 2011 02:59 PM

its Black on Black, like this

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...2004/rs421.jpg

BLU 08 March 2011 03:32 PM

Done properly, it could look good on a classic!

I'd suggest tinting the rear lights red as opposed to that daft STi look-a-like vinyl and doing the alloys gloss black (imho of course ;))

beef-on-the-bone 08 March 2011 05:12 PM

there is a murdrered-out golf estate on south-west dubs, looks great :)

Very nice fella, im going satin black all over, i will update a couple pictures later im just smoothing the splitter into the bumper atm

scooby-jib 12 March 2011 08:26 PM

Abit of an update on some bits i got done today

When i picked my bonnet up the other day the bloke offered me a c-west front bumper and some side skirts for next to nothing so had to have them, quickly fitted the sideskirts as you can see in the pics and started refurbing the wheels.

dropped my scooby off a curb i have going thru the middle of my carpark (as you do) just so i could see what it would look like.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/250.jpg

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/249.jpg

after inspecting the scoob abit more i found it has had a tiny prang, so decided to take all the front off and see what im looking at

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/254.jpg

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/251.jpg

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/263.jpg

Damage was very minimal so just played about with it abit and all sorted now.

Wheel that i did today

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/255.jpg

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...scooby/256.jpg

I really like the way this turned out, i decided to break the car colours up abit so im doing all the wheels satin black and then a clear coat on that

C-West bumper put up to my car, i think it will look awesome with some mesh and the lights fitted

sorry have to agree, don't fit it.

scooby-jib 14 March 2011 10:23 AM

if i was to fit it i wouldn't just bolt it on, i had a C-West bumper on my first scoob, with a little work they look quite smart, this is how mine turned out after i retrofitted fog light brackets and lights

Does anybody know what make my side skirts are??

DanAmo 14 March 2011 12:28 PM

I have decided to go for the de-spoilered look here is the progress, firstly i ground away the paint and then used the ball point of a hammer to hit the hole in slightly, welded the hole up and skimmed with fibre glass and filler, heres how she turned out.

I also welded up the lock and smoothed the line that goes thru the middle

Here i used a degreaser then roughed it up with a scotch pad.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y11...y/P6030480.jpg

Used a white base so the green really shines

BLU 12 April 2011 09:30 AM

Looking good :thumb:
I'm a fan of the 'smooth' look (have a nosey at my project thread in my sig ;))

Glad to see you kept the oem bumper!

I think the rear lights would look awesome if they were all red :thumb:

B4D HK 12 April 2011 09:58 AM

Most of you may be thinking "What the hell has he got a CD in the grill for??" well i saw it on a max power show car about 10 years ago, it will look better when i cover the centre with a carbon ring, it reflects loads of luminous colours and looks better than a horn.

Anybody will know the amount of time and skill it takes to work on a project like this, please note i have not used any air equipment such as sanders or guns, this is all done by hand, with good old sandpaper and wet and dry. im using aerosol satin black to paint the car aswel.

I know myself from working in a repair shop for a year the effort in getting panels prepped for paint even with the most up to date equipment.

cheers for looking

timmyajmy93wrx 15 April 2011 08:16 AM

good work mate, like your hard work, one thing though, watch out for the dibble, they will be clocking your HID's........

scooby-jib 15 April 2011 08:48 AM

Cheers fella, there not to bad around here to be honest, im out in the sticks 12 miles from any police station its the boy racer type lads they go after, ive done the speed thing, im into the cruize thing, lol.

sunny1989 15 April 2011 10:26 AM

Nicely done mate, not my cup of tea but a lot of hard works obviously gone into her!

in my opinion an original main bonnet vent and a set of wide 'concave' gunmetal rotas would set it off a treat.. just personal preference though..
