Biscuits....

Oh dear, went mad, Oreos were on offer at 49p in Sainsbury's, two packets bought and gone, ditto two packets of Peanut Cookies between us, well mainly me....

Oreo's are fantastic, like our humble Custard Cream but with a more compelling flavour and the Peanut Cookies, even better, dead cheap at 61p as well as I think nobody buys them, basically a biscuit with roast peanuts on, 12 of them for the price of a poxy Mars Bar.

So, what are your favourites ?

ScoobySteve69 06 March 2011 02:20 PM

Chocolate Hobnobs :luxhello:

Leslie 06 March 2011 02:22 PM

Plain, of course :)

With a hot cup of coffee makes for a perfect drink combo

Lotus, small caramelised biscuits that you sometimes get in cafes when you order a drink, now selling them in Tesco.
Or Jaffa Cakes (but think they are technically classed as cakes and not biscuits)

Ian 06 March 2011 02:42 PM

borbon

J4CKO 06 March 2011 02:44 PM

I used to love Chocolate Hobnobs but now find them a bit sickly.

Jamz3k 06 March 2011 02:52 PM

Pinkwaffers, love them!

oldsplice 06 March 2011 02:54 PM

I'm not really a biscuit person, but Digestives or Gingernuts with a cup of tea......... :thumb:

Whatever happened to Lemon Puffs? :Suspiciou

markr1963 06 March 2011 02:57 PM

Used to love plain chocolate Hobnobs aeons ago but ate that many I cannot stand them these days.
The best the Isle of Convicts can come up with are Arnott's TimTams (Dark Chocolate). They did a limited edition dark choc and chilli TimTam that was pretty good. I can get McVitie's Plain Chocolate Digestives but they don't taste the same as those from the Mother Land.
Used to like orange flavoured Clubs many moons ago.
IMO, Oreos are best with ice cold milk.

I love Oreo's and chocolate hobnobs and foxes creams.

Ant 06 March 2011 03:10 PM

Choc hobnobs, custard cremes,bourbon

chocolate_o_brian 06 March 2011 03:40 PM

Whatever is on offer at Asda at the time...

Turbohot 06 March 2011 04:20 PM

I can't stand sandwich biscuits with cream of any sort. I mayhave to eat them sometimes, but I scrape the cream out. Chocolate biscuits or anything chocolate flavoured apart from chocolate itself are not for me either. My favourite biscuits are cheapo malt biscuits. A packet of 20 is about .45p, I think. I like Scottish shortbread as well, but not the cheap ones with cheap butter in them. But they may disqualify on this thread because they are short breads, not biscuits?? :wonder: I dunno.
Its like jeffer cakes, innit? Cake, biscuit or just a minging, overovened cake slice topped with orange marmalade, finally sealed with chocolate topping, yuk!.

The most terrifyingly calorific biscuit of the entire McVitie's arsenal. Weapons-grade biscuitry.

I am sick of them. I liked Lotus so much that I was serving them in every meeting I organised. Everyone had to do with them because they were my favourite. Once I took a packet to a lecture, as a re-energising supplement. In break time over a cupper, I asked around if anyone else wanted one. Mr. professor/lecturer extended his arm to try one, and ate about 8 of them one after other! "Ummm....... they are very nice! Where are they from? They taste Belgian." Then he was researching the information on the packaging all that time until the break was over. I myself overdid with those biscuits so much that the thought of them now makes me feel like chunder. Good biscuits, though.

joz8968 06 March 2011 09:31 PM

What about Cadbury Animals! :D

Love all them.

What about the humble Rich Tea (esp. the Fingers) with a perfect cuppa. Awesome!

RobsyUK 06 March 2011 09:39 PM

Had a biscuit party once.. discusting!
My favourite has to be a foxes cream.

J4CKO, get the Oreo n scrap the middle out of 50 of them - put to one side,
Use the crum from the 50 (100bits) and crush - add melted butter and made 2 bases.
Fill with cream cheese and then use the while middle you scraped out to make a top layer --- Lovley Oreo cake!
