MY05 wrx, there is a cat in the downpipe and another smaller one after that. Will this downpipe replace both of those cats?

Thanks in advance.

That just replaces the down pipe cat fella, you would need a system complete to get it flowing at its best mate:thumb:

To get the benefit of decatting the downpipe, you need to remap.
You may be wiser buying one from a recommended manufacturer who can demonstrate their provenance

It will yes. I just bought one for my 2006 Hawkeye WRX from this company and when it came it was a Japspeed one!!! Excellent quality and got rid of both of the cats :-)

That downpipe will replace the downpipe cat and the cat section before the centre exhaust box. As mentioned you will need a remap after fitting this.

Thanks guys.
I already have a a japspeed downpipe, which i think is the same as the one i linked above.
Duncan Dynamix is coming to remap me in a couple of weeks and i will be fitting the downpipe the day before along with walbro fuel pump and K & N panel filter.
I already have a cat back system so i just wanted to check i won't have any cats left (except up-pipe).
Damn cats:

The uppipe is the one you really want rid of, it makes a significant differnce removing it. It is very restrictive. Any newage STI or classic uppipe will fit and are cheap, I would strongly advice removing it before your remap.

this one for the up-pipe look any good?

sorry i just got what you said. I should get a classic up-pipe or a newage sti one and not bother buying an aftermarket decat pipe. I understand.

The uppipe on the link is only good for robbing post offices if used in place of a baseball bat. Try and pick up a Subaru one as mentioned. PM Harvey on here I am sure he will have one or put up a wanted add. They nrmally sell for around £30-£40 just check that all the heatshield welds and studs are in good condition before buying.

Easy to fit when doing the rest. You will need to take the two nuts off the engine mounts and using a block of wood across the sump to jack the engine slightly to allow the uppipe to slip out between the block and subframe. I always disconnect the pitch stopper between the gearbox and bulkhead but some reckon it doesnt need disconnected.
You will also need to remove the egt probe which is used on the catted uppipe, its essentially a cat on fire probe. If you disconnect it from the plug on the rh inner wing it will give you a cel light. This can be eliminated bu putting a 2.2k ohm resisitor aross the plug on the car side which feeds a resistance to the ecu equivalent to the correct signal, the other method is to get your mapper to switch the cel off when he remaps the car. The non cat uppipe doesnt have this sensor fitted for obvious reasons.

Hope this helps
