I found them too aggressive on track, but OK on road...but that's with the OE discs.....

Are you running OEM discs?

DS2500 work very well with the Group N grooved discs from TSL (what I'm running) - minimal dust and much improved power.

Ive got DS2500 pads fitted to my '02 WRX with the OEM disc's
Was going to change to group N grooved disc's but my OEM's were still like new so thought I'd get more use out of them.

Normal driving the 2500's feel like the OEM pads even from cold,but with more bite.But when driving hard the brakes are a LOT better.
Excellent on fast road use, and great on the track, NO brake fade at all and I was pushing VERY hard!
Had the ABS kick in but like I said NO fade at all, in fact they felt even better when red hot. Did loads of braking from 110+ down to a 1st gear hair pin and could brake quite late without problem.
Definately worth the cost to change them. Do it!
I did & my OEM pads had only covered around 2k from brand new.

I have run Mintex 1155 pads on OE discs (RB5)and they were better than the standard pads although very dusty and the particles have buggered up the laquer on the wheels. Have now gone for TSL group N discs and DS2500 pads, just over a month old now, bedded them in very carefully and they are getting better and better. No noise, strong braking and low dust - road use only but I am very pleased with them.

I used a very simliar pad (4300) on my RB5, they are excellent, far better than the std or the mintex I used before. Bite is excellent and I couldn't get them to fade on kirkiston, knockhill or Mondello. With the money you are saving I would recommend getting Paul to sort you out with better fluid and possibly braided hoses to moke the most of your upgrade.

Yep - me....2 sets :) Brand new OE discs lasted 20-30 track km's before warping - this was doing 4 or 5 lap sessions with proper warm-up & cool-down.

I didn't have any problems for road use. However, if I could choose again I'd have stayed with the ds2000's - if you abuse the brakes too hard with ds2500's the disk is the weak spot, no fade but warping due to heat. With ds2000's you can induce fade on track, but the disk is OK.

Ultimately it depends on driving style I guess - if you intend going to the limit I think they're too aggressive on OE disks.

Got braided lines fitted to mine (at TSL ;)), they do firm up the pedal a lot. Gave me more confidence in braking. I'm still running the OE discs/pads (MY00) at the moment. Also added a servo support bracket after seeing how much flex there is in the bulkhead when the middle pedal is being pressed hard.

I've just ordered a set of Ferodo DS2500...........

If they are good, I'll let you know........

I am thinking of getting the Ferodo DS2500's coupled with Pagid grooved discs, braided hoses and the upgraded brake fluid. I don't track the car but just want to improve the poor preformance of my brakes (standard 4 pots).

I have mintex 1144's on 330mm AP brakes.

Are the ferrodo DS2500 pads better than the 1144 for roaddriving ?
Do they produce less dust ?

i prefer the mintex 1155 to the DS2500, half the price

Got a set of DS2500s from TSL and done a couple of thousand miles (road driving). Very pleased! MUCH better (vs std pads) initial bite, and good consistent pedal feel all the way through the braking. I did experience some fade a couple of times but don't know if it's the pads or the disks (std OE disks). The brake dust level is pretty similar to the std pads, but it's more red/ginger in colour. The pads are very quiet at all speeds.
