We also recondition STi Brembo F&R calipers

We are seeing more and more Gold Sti calipers to recondition now , so thought I would start a thread for these.

As the calipers and pistons are anodised aluminium they don't have the same problems the Cast steel Subaru 4 pot calipers have with rusting sticking pistons , as yet we haven't had to replace any pistons in these calipers to date.

They do have problems with them , namely snapped bolts or bleed nipples and damaged threads , all of which we can fix with helicoils. When you remove your calipers , you can see for yourself if any threads need repairing so you know exactly what needs doing

Most send them in for a repaint , which we can do any colour you want , including the original gold metallic , and we also supply brembo decals.

We charge £65 per caliper to completely strip them down , paint strip , bead blast , prime and spray them any colour you want. We clean the pistons , and as long as the seals have NO damage , we can chemically clean them and reuse them.

We also keep seals in stock , so by choice you can have new seals fitted , or if any seals are damaged we will change them

Seal kits are £55 per front calipers , and £40 per rear caliper

As these calipers can seem to have problems with threads ect , we can only offer to recondition your calipers , we will not be offering them on an exchange basis , it takes us 2 full days to recondition them , we then send them out on a next day delivery

P&P is £12.50.

They look amazing
Will recon calipers make for better braking?

Godspeed Brakes 31 March 2011 07:55 AM

I have heard that red calipers add 10 hp throughout the rev range :D

They would only make for better braking if your calipers weren't working properly in the first place , ie , sticking pistons ect , after a refurb they are working perfectly

Hi
We charge £65 per caliper , plus any parts if needed , we could smooth off the caliper face for you before we spray them.
If any threads needed helicoiling we charge £30 per thread , you may find them all ok , you will see when you remove them , remove the bleed nipples when they are off , if they all come out ok , and the bolts all come out ok where they bolt onto the car , then they will not need looking at , at least you know where you stand before sending them in.

It takes us 2-3 days to do them

Cheers Ian
