removing shocks
Right today i had a go at taking my rear shocks off the car, i have a 200o impreza turbo, now all seemed fine when i got the sock off the car, but how do i free the brake hose as i couldnt work out how to detach it from the shock and didnt want to have to bleed the brakes on all for corners just to swap suspension over. Was getting dark so put it all back together and going to have another go tomorrow. Any help would be greatly appreciated, i know its an easy job but im new to the scooby world, any other car wouldv been easy. Leon

I think from memory the brake hose goes through the hole so you either need to cut the bracket off and then mount it somehow on the new shock or undo the hose and then bleed the brakes.
Someone will be along soon to clarify but I am sure I have read this a few times before. |
unfortunatly the hack saw had to come out, to have to bleed the brakes on each corner just to change the shocks is stupid!

perfectly normal. i usually cut into the bracket with a dremel then bend a part of the bracket back to get the hose out. then bend it back shut.
