sti 555 v ltd 3.5k

Is that a good price for a 16 year old car !

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1995-SUBARU-IM...item27b8cc460f

53 25 February 2011 10:24 PM

It would be but not for that one ! :) Minters are a rare find, grab them where you can IMHO :)

leecalcars 25 February 2011 10:43 PM

Was flicking through the bay and saw it im not in the market for one was just curious as to the price ,seen alot younger cars for less !

but suppose cause its an sti 555 they hold there money better i suppose.

53 25 February 2011 10:46 PM

Unmolested early classics are one of the best imprezas you can buy IMHO. Worth a premium for a proper minter. My 555 wagon is 16 years old and the best money I have ever spent ! :)

I'm sure because that's a v-limited it makes it not a 555 :wonder:, there are differences but I think technically the v-limited is a better car than the 555.

g7prs 25 February 2011 10:53 PM

WTF is an uprated rear mount Intercooler :)

Midlife...... 25 February 2011 10:57 PM

I'm not sure it left the factory looking like that ??

That's right, front bumper, grill, rear spoiler and the wheels are different plus the skirts are colour coded and I'm sure they were black like mine (555)

Personally with those changes I wouldn't pay that, I paid £3k for my 555 a few months ago and it was virtually standard.

dj219957 26 February 2011 12:05 AM

no such car as a v limited 555! its one or the other.

dj219957 26 February 2011 12:33 AM

that car confuses me cos it has the roof flap and looks like pre facelift which idicates its either a 555 or a v limited but the v limited would have been 1 of 555 and if it were a 555 then it would not be numbered (they only made 500 and they were not numbered). He says its no 822 which would point towards a wrx v limited which where 1/1000 but they didnt have a roof vent - so what is it!?

I keep reading that they only made 500 of the 555 editions, is that true? It's strange how they weren't numbered.

Could that car be an sti RA? They made those in 53c I think :wonder:

Yes 500 saloons and 100 wagons!

westallc 26 February 2011 06:10 AM

i have a 1996 555 and its up for sale for 3500 and imo worth every penny and wont be sold for any less

mine in still very oem as it should be with the added bonus of a new engine rebuild

dj219957 26 February 2011 08:25 AM

westallc, is yours numbered?

rossyboy 26 February 2011 08:29 AM

"very neat and tidy car"

Apart from the rot that has set in on the passenger side rear arch. Its usually drivers side first, so it'll be the same, or has been repaired.

Not worth the money.

jayallen 26 February 2011 08:30 AM

It has the V limited badge on the boot.

kj200sx 26 February 2011 09:26 AM

my mate just brought a 1995 wrx v limited for £1200 in not bad condition guess he got a bargain and i brought my 1996 ver3 sti v limited mint for £2500 8 mths ago

Midlife...... 26 February 2011 12:01 PM

Just out of curiosity what colour do you think the glass is ?? Green or bronze ??

afaiaa the only ltd/ special edition V2 STi was the 555 (& they weren't 'plaqued')

The only ltd edition V2 STi RA was the v-ltd. (came with plaque/ badge)

Both (confusingly) in 53c.

The car in the ebay link is a 555 ...& you could probably get it back to 'standard' (visually at least) for £3-500 (wheels, grille, bumper, low spoiler are all fairly common parts on fleabay)

it cant be a 555 if he says its number 822, they only made 500 and they were not numbered anyway

I'm not entirely sure where he's got 822 from? ...but it's definitely a 555 (& not an RA STi v-ltd)

what a lovely car it is as well, i thought about buying it before you got it but couldn't shift my old car, hope you get what you want for it as it's definately worth it.

Not sure about that! If you look closely at the rear picture it has the plaque on the boot below the round badge! Somebody needs to as him for a better rear picture of the boot or the applied model code!

I knew about that one with the sti 555 compared to the ra but wasnt sure about the vlimited :thumb:

widdows 28 February 2011 05:31 PM

I think its a v limited but v limiteds didnt come with the roof scoop. the badge on the back looks the same as the one that used to be on my v limited

Both the 555 and V limited had an electric ariel on the rear wing.
