Blackberry torch

Anyone got one?

We're upgrading select employees curve8900's with these.

Personally I prefer the 8900 to the torch.. The touch screen isn't that great... Pretty useless infact as everything can be done via the keyboard (which is easier to use)

I have one, they're ok, the touch screen takes a little getting use to and can sometimes be unresponsive. I hardly ever use the sliding keyboard. It's a lot heavier, comparitively speaking, but the bigger screen is nice. I think I may go back to the 9780 Bold. The 9300 Curve would be the logical upgrade to 8900 though and the keyboard is better.

I know, but BT in a bid to sweeten the deal have reduced our tariffs, and agreed to "upgrade" 25% of the existing phones.

How about keep the phones they have and reduce the tariff even further?

Yup I would go for the 9780 or 9300 to replace an 8900.
Torch doesn't do it for me, but know people who love theirs, even as a first blackberry they love them.

I'm not sold on the Torch, I've had users who have wanted to swop it for a 9780 after the novelty factor wore off.

The poor battery life, size and weight are the big issues.

Also the slide keyboard/screen seems a bit floppy after time.

Bold would always be my choice. Bring on the Bold Touch I say!

belliott69 25 February 2011 01:43 PM

bold all the way, so many people who have had the torch have come back in and traded them back for the bold, they say they hardly ever use the touch screen and when the keyboards out its to big to use comfortabley.

We'll I quite like the BB torch
Battery life seems to be not that much different to the 8900 I had.
I have wireless & bluetooth on all the time.

Takes a bit of getting used to though

I have had a go and its nicer than the Curve but I am holding out for an Iphone as the Torch is nowhere near.

Scotsman 06 March 2011 04:58 AM

My wife has been a blackberry user for years and years, got an upgrade to the torch and sent it back after 4 days and got an Iphone 4. Have to say that the touch screen was poor and the interface was messy. I'd either go with the bold or make the move to an iphone.

another bold user here. but my drug dealer phone is an HTC Desire
