Finally Bought One..... A Scooby.....

So it wasn't the dream Scooby i was after, it wasn't the STi, i was after, it wasn't the BLUE Scooby i was after, it wasn't a Type R i was after, it wasn't the import i was after.

Its ALOT of stuff i wasn't after. lol

BUT it is the low mileage example i wanted, in a colour that has grown on me for a price that was RIGHT for me, and a condition that isn't perfect but its defo workable.

Its a Green UK Turbo 2000. T Reg. 71k Some Subaru History, and other service history, ALOT of paperwork and recipts, and all for a very nice price imo.

I've not fully paid for it yet and i'm picking it up in March :-)

ALL comments welcome, good or bad. I know about the chav lights, they ARE getting changed.

looks like a good buy, good price, enjoy.

SpecDscooby 18 February 2011 04:56 PM

Good for you Dave, about time:).......Looks a nice car mate, few goodies too. There is a green one near me, and i must say when its polished up and clean it does look real nice. Well done, and good luck with it all mate.

astra_dave 18 February 2011 05:01 PM

wheels will be getting changed, and it will be getting lowered, got a couple of interior changes to do, but other than that, its pretty much sorted :-)

TonyBurns 18 February 2011 05:05 PM

I was going to mention the wheels ;) put the standard air box back on, filters can cause issues if your not careful :(

Tony:)

astra_dave 18 February 2011 05:07 PM

what issues can the filters cause? i know of vauxhalls they suffer with massive heat soak, wasn't sure of issues with the Impreza

TonyBurns 18 February 2011 05:17 PM

MAF sensors on the MY99/00's, its recommended NOT to go with an oiled filter or induction kit.

Tony:)

95turbowagon 18 February 2011 05:19 PM

Looks a good base to improve on.

astra_dave 18 February 2011 05:34 PM

okies, will fit the standard airbox with a panel filter, unless you've got a better sugestion?

Maz 18 February 2011 05:50 PM

Forest green if I'm not mistaken. That is a lovely colour when it's polished. I kinda like them alloys. My first Impreza was the same colour as yours and in some ways it was the one that I enjoyed the most.:)

dj219957 18 February 2011 05:50 PM

i like the wheels, can you not get them sprayed gun metal grey?, that would look nice.
yes loose the lights and induction kit.

astra_dave 18 February 2011 05:53 PM

lights are defo going, induction kit is now going, and i want 17in alloys, i like the ones that are on, but 18in tyres are expensive.

dunx 18 February 2011 06:03 PM

18's are wrong on a classic... unless full of brakes !

Enjoy it !

bang tidy scoob bud! :)

Camoscooby 18 February 2011 07:15 PM

If the car is right for you mate, thats all that matters :thumb:

They have been mentioned above but I would personally remove the lexarse lights and the wheels have to go. This is, of course my opinion, you can tell me to f*ck off if you want ;)

astra_dave 18 February 2011 07:25 PM

Wheels and lexus lights are going, prev owner has standard lights, so i'll be fitting the when i pick her up.

greatgonzo 18 February 2011 07:25 PM

I'm loving it :luvlove: but + 1 on the wheels not my cup of tea.

astra_dave 18 February 2011 07:28 PM

want some standard 17in alloys, gold would be cool, but gun metal gray would also work very well.

amego 18 February 2011 07:34 PM

very nice

More_Boost 18 February 2011 07:47 PM

Looks a minter, very nice. :thumb:

astra_dave 18 February 2011 07:51 PM

lol ok, its not gonna do it any harm until i can get a standard airbox is it?

MattyB1983 18 February 2011 07:56 PM

I actually quite like that colour and the wheels too. Maybe like said above, have them sprayed a dark grey colour.
The lights are awful though and not keen on that huge spoiler, STI Version 2/3 spoiler would look alot nicer.

astra_dave 19 February 2011 07:54 AM

lol so do i, the car is in Bury, i have no idea where Middlewich is.

I love the huge spoiler, always wanted one with the huge spoiler :-)

Got a couple of things to buy to fit to the car when i pick it up. Airbox is one of them, shes gonna need LHD headlights for Germany, standard lights or STi clear lights.

astra_dave 20 February 2011 11:22 AM

right question time, how can i tell which MY the car is, and how to tell which ECU it has to weather it can be mapped or not, and which engine is in my car?
