Fitting 'Proper' Fog Lights to Hawkeye STI?

Has anyone fitted 'proper' fog lights to a Hawkeye STI? I don't mean the standard little dinky Hawkeye fog lights, but nice round chunky proper ones as were fitted to Bugeyes & Blobeyes - or maybe there's a similar product from PIAA. If anyone has, I would welcome advice on application, ease of fitment and plugging in etc. and maybe cost and who can do it. What is actually behind those cover inserts where the fogs should be that have the STI logo on them? Also a picture of the front end of Hawkeye with good fogs fitted would be useful to see what it looks like. Thanks in advance.

Forget the fog lights.

Fit these instead!

These will cool your brakes, or could be used to feed the airbox with a nice stream of cold air.

Fog lights might look good, but all they are actually doing is adding weight, and when will you ever use them? Not as if it's foggy everyday is it, well unless you live on top of a mountain of course!

I'm interested in any replies to this thread too regarding lights (driving lights would be nice instead of fogs)......

Dozza..... where did you get the covers mate ?

Aren't they just the covers without the lights?

I would have thought they were just covers mate......just wondered where he got them !

I ideally would like a driving lights if possible !

I wonder if you could still fit the Hella 90mm units as fitted to the P1, under those "covers" so that the light would shine through the hole?

I suppose it would depend on what the brackets are like, if the holes line up and how big the holes were.

The Hella units are excellent, btw, and even available in HID........

If you fit any projector style fog light upside down it will give a reasonable spread of light but not the range of a decent driving lamp...

P.S. Yes I have tried it...
