Oil Dash light

Ive noticed over this cold winter when starting the car 1st thing in the morning the red oil dash light will sometimes flicker and then start's car sounds a bit odd but i put this down to it being cold, Drives well etc leave it at work all day and then start the car to come home and this doesn't happen just start's,

Any Idea's

I always put the clutch down when starting the car, the oil was last changed in August and has covered 3000 miles and will be changed again in a couple of weeks

Ive checked oil pressure today and im getting good readings 85 - 90psi,

You have not put it down but have you actually physically checked the oil level using the dipstick?

Tony:)

Oil pressure sender/sensor?, mine went on a old astra the pressure was fine when tested at the garage but the sender/sensor failed.

First sign was the odd flicker, then it came on permanently.

Tony yea Ive checked the oil on the dip stick and is at the top mark were is all ways kept, As said the pressure is good on the guage, the car run's well, Oil was changed 3000 miles ago (set to be changed next week)

I have noticed today whilst waiting for the fuel pump to do its bit that the oil light dimmed a bit then when turning key it flickered twice then soon as car running its gone,

Guess its got to be the sensor cheers
