My wife has done 72,000 miles in hers and nothing has gone wrong, fallen off or broken - touch wood! It's been re-mapped too for the last 50,000 and is fairly rapid.
I was a bit concerned about the flaps scare stories, but hers is June 2004 and seems not to be affected, depending on who you believe. The one thing I do hate is the gear box ratios - there seems to be a vast chasm between 1st and 2nd, which makes smooth progress difficult in traffic.
Probably going to get rid of it this year, but not sure what to replace it with really, as it's a brilliant all-rounder. Having said that, I've never really liked it that much! :)
