Anyone ever used "La Francilienne" route around Paris?
Skirting paris using autoroutes and dual carriageways, but NOT the "Peripherique"?
I can't find any route details, only using the Peripherique, which I hate. Mind, as it will probably be early hours of the morning, 5-6am it might be ok? |
If it's before 6am use the perif, but be well away or moving out of Paris before 6:30. The Francillian is a fair bit longer and subject to its own delays but more bearable in rush hour.
Take care as there are more and more speed cameras.. |
Cheers, I know about speed cameras, I never speed in France now, just not worth it.

The periph at night is perfectly fine. Well, apart from the last time a few months back when some roadworks sent me through some diversions and I ended up driving along narrower and narrower streets until I was down to single-lane cobbled roads, wandering WTF was going on. At one point I saw signposts for the Kremlin. Which as odd.

If you're going south of Paris just go Rouen, Chartres and Orleans.
It's the route I use regularly, in fact I'll be on it next Monday heading for the Limousin. |
lol We tried this route as it took us , we imagined , away from all the heavy traffic at rush hour nearer Paris ( got off the ferry at 1pm i think on the way down south ) .
Did it feck :) |
