Exhaust Advice please
 

Hi all,

Just after some advice please. I have an 03 WRX which has a Prodrive back box that I fitted when I bought the car, as it was standard and I wanted some Subaru Burble. However, my bro in law has just upgraded his exhaust system to a full 3" RCM setup at great expense, but it has a nice looking slash cut tailpipe which I rather like the look of, and its also got a deeper burble than mine.

What I want to know is, what backboxes are out there with slash cut tail pipes that give a slightly better burble than the Prodrive. I know I'll never get it as good as a full 3" system but Im more after the look.

Any of the aftermarket boxes that dont contain baffles. I have a cobra turboback system and there isnt a single baffle/resonator on it, It is pretty loud but love it.
Id say something like the ninja 2 box or similar should give you a bit more rip.

the original scoobyworld ninja is a good bet too. Scoobyworlds sellin them for about 180 quid i think

To get a decent burble you really need to remove the 2nd cat and middle section, back box on its own will not give anywhere near as much of a burble.

Thanks for replying folks, I already have a de resonated rear section before the backbox and I have a centre decat pipe installed. I have seen the ninja 2 back box and that looks like it fits the bill but the tail pipe is about 4.5 inches in diameter and I was after something closer to the prodrive which I believe is about 3 inches. I find that wil the prodrive gives a little burbling at idle it loses it under any kind of load.

I have just recently had a 3 inch centre piece and back box put on my02 bug and that gives out a lovely burble plus it still should be all good for mot.

After some research on youtube and shopping around, it looks as though the two to look at would be the Ninja 2 back box from Scooby World or the Blitz Nur Spec R. Does anybody have one of these on there car that would care to comment on the fitment, sound etc.
