If you have contacted the police already speak to Admin on here I am sure they would try to help anyway they can especially if the police are involved.

i dont have any contact details but this guy messaged me a week or so ago saying he wanted to buy my car off me and that he was going to get the train up at the weekend and he wanted me to collect him from the train station and go back to mine where he would give me the cash for my car then he would take it away. we exchanged a few pm's and he seemed a genuine guy but when i sent a pm asking for his number i never heared from him again.. looks like i was lucky, i could have been done there then.

We CAN help, but only with the authorities. If we get such a request we will fulfil it to the best of our ability but we CANNOT hand out private information to individuals.

Try posting on http://www.tyneteesscoobies.co.uk/forums/index.php, I'm only about 10 miles away from where he is supposed to live but don't know him althought hopefully someone from TTS will.

That's not true, the admin's only have access to an IP address, or at best an email address. The IP address is not covered by DPA and I don't think the email address is either ..

That would be interesting to know TBH. I always thought it covered any personal information that could identify the person.

IMO if someone has conned someone and it can be proven (not possibly done it scenarios) then any details of there should be made public to protect others..but that is just waht I think.
