I think you have the wrong end of the stick.

Men think its flu, women know its something less and call it "man flu", i.e. a cold that prevents a man from doing the chores.

Far from doubting it, most women believe that real flu, TB, malaria etc. in men are all just excuses to get out of the housework.

What I caught lasted for 2 weeks with nasty cough etc. and Mrs Leslie caught it for about one night!
