topping up water on radiator

Hi guys
daft question but i need to top up rad on my2005 wrx, now do i put water and coolant in bottle next to rad or take off small rad cap and put in there

and what oil do i top engine up with
thanks

the bottle you mention next to the radiator is the expansion bottle, Tend to keep that on the max marker. to top up the radiator you need to remove the header tank top on the inlet manifold driverside and fill up in there. and also if you have a radiator cap on the radiator itself it s worth checking in there too, some imprezas do have it and some dont.

the standard oil for your year of car is a 5w30 oil

Thanks for that
so i fill both header and rad as i have a small cap and when i take it off i can see in side rad

Sorry to chip in but I wondered what the cap was for on the header. Why are there 2 caps/points to top up then?

i v put water in the header tank , but noticed theres no min max marks on it , also i tried filling on the rad but that just leads in to expansion tank (which was nearly empty so i filled that a little as well
