replacment bug headlights?

Hi Folks :)

Has anybody fitted these ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I'm wanting to get rid of the dumb looking standard units. But with Morettes at around £500 and prodrive around the same or more (?) I'm wondering if these £129.99 jobbies are any good?

I had some similar price units on a BMW - they looked cheap and importantly were rubbish in the dark! So I don't wanna make the same mistake twice!

Any advice would be appreciated :thumb:

ATB and thanks for looking,
Phil :)

No mention of e-marking:(

I'd leave them alone, you get what you pay for lighting wise.

Tried e-bay for 2nd hand morettes, etc?

I had seen the ones in your link, but they're not genuine Morettes, so I have no idea if they're any good either?

I'm new to this (had the car a month, and loving it!).

From what I can tell so far, there seems to be 3 types of quality replacment lights for the bug.

This may be wrong, but:

1) Prodrive (black plastic with small lights sunken in).
2) Ones that look like prodrives, but with full glass lenses.
3)Morettes.

Any more info or other options - please let me know :)

Thanks for the advice chaps. In the meantime I'll keep looking :thumb:

I`ve got a set of these on mine, and the supplied bulbs were crap, so got some uprated ones, and the lights are pretty good now. :)

Mine came from america, and not sure about the beam pattern, so just fit the standard ones for the MOT.

Wow, your car is almost identical to mine! That's really useful to see exactly how they look on the car :thumb:

Do they connect without having to butcher the car's wiring?

And I guess they don't have remote adjustment?

I've heard of wiring issues with angel eyes on classics.

Unless I was using projectors, I'd be wary of using non-branded lenses. (PIAA, Cibie, Hella etc).

Smoked JDM hid Sti for me, These are way better than any other aftermarket headlight for lighting up the road , IMHO, You can pick them up for £250-£350

atb,
Phil :thumb:

The supplied connectors on the lights are no good, so i`ve run wires and connected up to the standard car connectors, so no cutting of the original loom, and yep, there`s no remote adjustment.
