My 2003 Impreza Wrx Sti Type-UK

I am a member of this community since nearly one year and I think it's time to post something about me and my ride. My name is Dennis, I'm from Germany, 25 Years old and I'm very interested in fast japanese and old american muscle cars. My last ride was a Nissan 200SX RS13 with a CA18DET engine and full Horsham Developments stage 3 setup. After five years ownership I selled it because it became boring to drive. Last summer I bought a 2003 Impreza Wrx Sti Type-UK with a low mileage in Great Britain. The car had only two previous owners and is in a very good condition. In the last few months the car got some minor modifications, but very effective ones. In the next months there will be a lot of more modifications.

There is a little imprecise wave between 4.000 - 4.500 rpm because I need a new neutral shifter.

In the next few weeks I will post some newer pictures with an installed Seibon carbon hood, a carbon front splitter and a set of carbon mirror covers and a set of special prepared rear wing carbon stabilisators. There are many more parts that I ordered in the last weeks and still waiting for installation. I will still update this thread :thumb:

Thanks for the comments. The car got mapped at GP-Tuning in Luxembourg. The owner of this company is an excellent well-known Ecutek mapper especially for Subarus. The Kakumei or Aerys turboback exhausts are similar and perfect for a good torque curve, too. Furtermore I guess that the engine is in a fine condition, the car got owned by an older woman for six years.

Here are two new pictures. I am still waiting for a short WR1 style lower mesh grille, a carbon v-ltd front lip, a set of carbon covers for the mirrors and a set of pink sti stickers for the fog light covers.

Before I've bought this car I was thinking about many problems. Could I shift with the left hand, is it a delicate to overtake other traffic participants, is it easy to drive reverse into a parking space or is it a problem to keep distances? After a few months of owning the Subaru I've to say that every thought was for nothing. It's very easy too drive a rhd car in Germany and my insuarance isn't loaded. I have to pay the same rates as for a lhd car :)

I will take it off next weekend. Furthermore the front bumper get new pink original sti stickers, the short version of a wr1 style lower grille and a carbon v-ltd front lip.

Two weeks ago I made some new pictures from the car.

The mesh from the carbon bonnet is taking off now and some new carbon parts are installed. A set of carbon mirror covers and carbon b-pillar trims.

Furthermore I installed a WR1 style lower grille, a new double din headunit from Pioneer and a new set of STI stickers for the fog light covers.

Within the next weeks I will install a carbon front lip, a carbon rear window spoiler, some mudflaps, a stainless steel radiator cover, three green premium gauges from Prosport and four new Pioneer speakers.

At the moment I am building up a subwoofer and power amplifier housing for the trunk. It's not that easy because I want to integrate a flap for the spare tire.

Two weeks ago I got a set of BC Racing BR coilovers, I will also install them within the next few weeks.

I am selling my old rhd headlights on Ebay.

Maybe someone is interested.

martin850 11 August 2011 08:48 PM

Very nice mate, love the carbon bits.

I am searching for a turbo that will produce a higher power output for improved elasticity datas at middle and high revs. My favourites are the SC42 Billet, SC46 Billet and MDX555-450 Billet. I want to install a turbo with well spooling characteristics in every rev range. Which one you would recommend me, when I don't want to change my tmic setup?

http://h9.abload.de/img/imag00018par8.png

That's the last picture that I made. I sold the coilovers due to a slipped disc, a very annoying physical injury. Next month I will order a set of Chargespeed Bottomline carbon side skirts, a set of Chargespeed Bottomline carbon rear spats and a set of tinted window rain guard visors.

Since two years no update of my thread anymore. I sold the car in december 2012 because I wanted to try an other car. The Subaru gets well kept by the new owner and stayed still in Germany.

After the sell of my former Wrx Sti I bought a 2008 Mazda CX-7 2.3 DISI, the car was very comfortable and not as slow as supposed but I was not the right buy. After just three months I had an accident with it and a 2004 Volvo S40T5 followed. For a fwd car it felt very agile but after one year I sold it, too.

In April this year I booked a flight to Exeter and looked after a new fast saloon. A rhd car again because I had no problems with my former Subaru for 3 years. At first I was thinking about getting a 2003-2005 Subaru Wrx Sti again. The blob eye was the only alternative.

At the end I decided to go with a 2007 Mazda 6 MPS. Next year I turn 30 and I think it was the best decision to buy this car. A very comfortable ride, really fast, all-wheel-drive and just a mileage of 28.500 miles. Since some years there is also a lot of stuff available for it. The car is in a very well condition and really clean. I think the former owner was right with his comment that this example was one of the best ones available in UK.

The car is back on standard aloys now because I got some troubles with our german TUEV organisation. They didn't accept the mounted RX-8 alloys.
