Anyone got and APEXI ECU & Commnader Instruction manual ?
Scanned copies will do
Having trouble finding them on the net that is for an MY99 TypeR Cheers Steve |
Hi theres a guide on Jolly green monsters website
http://www.jollygreenmonster.com/pfc_user.htm very helpful :thumb: |
Very useful thanks
I was looking for info the ecu as well, so that i can understand how the check engine light displays faults ? Is there an option to have change up light using the check engine light ? |
Cant help ya there sorry, dont think theres a shift light option though:wonder: sure someone will have some better ideas.
I do have a manual for mine, but its useless as its all in Japanese :lol1: |
not seen the a shift light option i have 1 from glowshift not the best as they have adjustable screw on back but with many runs up and down the straight mile by me i managed to get mine to come on just as boost is dropping off, seems to work well
|
Reason i ask, is i'm getting a single flash (around 0.1sec) at around 5500rpm sometimes. May have to get the mapper to take a look. Can't seem to see any error codes.
I can't read Japanese either by the way :D |
I get a similar warning light, 4th full throttle similar rpm.
could be boost spike due to the cold weather? Also apexi's are known to have warning lights for everything and will flash the check engine light for them all, just depends how its been set up. JGM is mapping mine on the 4th of Feb so will see how it all goes and let you know. Having the Apexi boost controller plumbed in too :norty: |
There's alot of info here on the power fc. http://www.paulr33.com/powerfc-faq/powerfc-faq.htm
The only manual I've ever been able to find in english is for the RX7, but at least it gives some info. RX7 pfc manual The single CEL flash is an upper limit reached for something, you should use the monitor option on the hand controller and record the peak values. If you have reached the knock limit the CEL flashes quickly. My injection duty maxed out the other day at 100% and gave the CEL a single flash. |
On the Impreza version of the PFC you can set the EML to flash for Knock, Airflow Voltage, and Injector Duty Cycle. - You can set a threshold value and the number of times to flash the EML for that particular warning event. I would always set these warnings to flash the checklight a different amount of times for each type of warning, and definately more than a single flash, so that the driver has a better chance of spotting it.
If a Sensor is unexpectedly out of range, the EML can also be illuminated. If you have a commander, you can display sensor voltages on the ETC->Sensors/Switches page. If there is a sensor out of range, then the voltage value will be highlighted in black. If your boost level exceeds 0.25Bar over the defined setpoint, the ecu will fuel cut. |

Thanks FB
I'm just getting my head around the manual for the commander now. Didn't do it at all today. All seemed fine |
I'm happy to check it over for you, if you're anywhere local to me in High Wycombe :)
|
A bit fat away from me, but thanks for the offer :)
It's been ok ever since |
Steve, when you set the commander to display knock, press the "UP" arrow so that it will log the highest knock figure. If its just a brief flash of the CEL at high RPM, it may just be a little spike in the knock.
|
The knock is very low. Been monitoring and all looks ok today and yesterday. I'll keep monitoring all the values and and see what happens. Might have been some dodgy V-Power. Its been fine since i filled it up. Either that or it may have been running a little low on fuel at the time.

I seem to have a similar issue with my Type R.
Seems to come on when I am in 4th gear and going to 5th. Just flashes on briefly. Not all the time usually when I am pushing the car. Haven't used it since as worried what it might be!:wonder: |
