The King's Speech
Stunning, laugh out loud funny, the best film I have seen for years.
If this is your type of thing - and I appreciate it is not everyone's - this is a superb film. |
I just can't get excited about it.
|
So why bother posting then?

I really enjoyed the film as did my wife, very funny and moving in parts. The funniest film I've seen in a long while is Four Lions, I know its a sensitive subject, but I couldn't stop laughing when the fellow blew himself up! :D
|
My daughter has a slight stammer and happens to be doing an MSc in Speech Therapy so the film is of immense interest to her and her uni classmates. But she can't get to see it as it always booked up!!

One of the best lines for me was "Well, its official then!"

Me and her indoors want to see this,
Prolly for her cos its Mr Darcy (;)) Must admit it looks rather good Mart |
King George V1 was a good man. He was slung into a job he did not want but carried out his duties in an exemplary fashion. He and his wife Queen Elizabeth were very highly regarded by the people of this country for their example during WW2.

Les - I think you would really enjoy this moving picture. It is a talkie too :)
Trout :) |
I will have to get batteries for my hearing aid first.
You are not going the right way to get an evening sea trout fishing by the way! Les ;) |
Looking forward to seeing this, Geoffrey Rush is a great actor!
|
When you say it is funny, is it a complete piss take? Because that is what impression the trailer leaves.

Four Oscars!!
Well done to a British film, made in Britain, by our talented and creative film makers who are the envy of the world over. And these are the one's who stayed in Britain to make their films here. |

Please ask her why my stammer ending on the day I started Uni - woke up Saturday with a stammer, woke up Sunday without.
As to the film - definitely one I want to watch. It's all in the mind you know! [/Twilight Zone Music] Good NLP practitioners can significantly alleviate stammering in one session. |
