Like the grills, where they from mate>?

p.s.
Dont sell it, you will regret it in about a week......

greatgonzo 27 January 2011 07:15 PM

Got the grills from a company called Zunsport, really good quality and I think they look good with the silver paint work, Don't want to sell as I do still love the car but the ride quality plus the condition of the roads around the surrey area gets on my nerves  so a nice black C 220 sports Mercedes is getting more appealing ;)

SpecDscooby 27 January 2011 07:18 PM

Give ya a tenner plus the standard grills for yours ...:)........lol

greatgonzo 27 January 2011 07:22 PM

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm NO! :D

The Grills look great! Might get a set for mine, but before that its deffo a speaker upgrade!:D

greatgonzo 27 January 2011 08:01 PM

I had all my speakers upgraded, Alpines in the doors with sound deadening which is a must really good product, But also had a pair of Focal speakers installed on the rear shelf which are outstanding :notworthy if I knew how good these where going to be I would have had them in the doors as well.

Weekend bump for spec D's

exo 13 February 2011 09:55 PM

Hi all - another Spec D to the mix, first registered 01.03.07 so must be one of the last ones.

Saved it a couple of weeks ago from an early grave, think it may have been repossessed and was owned by someone who didn't realise what the running costs would be.

Cosmetically nearly perfect and completely standard but the second owner bought it sometime after the 20k service and it didn't get the next stamp till 38k... When I picked it up it had just touched 43k and there was oil contamination in the expansion chamber, so I was pretty sure the head gaskets were blown.

Have only driven it 50 miles so far from where I picked it up to Welch's Subaru near Cambridge and tbh you would never have known there was a problem. Welch's had it for a day, did two sniff tests and confirmed that both head gaskets were blown (and only charged me 26 quid).

It will now get the love and attention it deserves and is currently having the engine rebuilt by a local specialist (had a phone call yesterday saying the heads will be finished on Tuesday and I should get her back by next weekend).

I took these pics on my brief journey, will post more when I get her back and detailed.

SpecDscooby 14 February 2011 04:40 PM

A bargain to me as I've been looking for a clean, standard Spec D for 12+ months now for my 'nearly 40 mid-life crisis Cosworth CS600 project'. The dealer where I bought her from has agreed to pay for the current engine work so at least I will get to play with her a bit before the transplant.

Yeah can't wait, nothing worse than having a new toy you can't play with. Hopefully the new long block will take care of the pistons :)

@53WRX - Any chance you could let me know the dimensions of your Spec D's rear number plate?

53 16 February 2011 10:40 PM

Yeah it's 520mm X 152mm :)

Sold my 18's and currently have these 17" Toshi Arai temporarily :)

Looks a little dirty 53:)

53 17 February 2011 03:40 PM

Lol, it does need a wash :D

SpecDscooby 17 February 2011 08:32 PM

Wheels look ok in white to be fair:cool:, prefered the rota torque's though i have to say:)....i want mud flaps.....next month i think, the Zunsport grills are enough for this month, (fitted the top grills this evening, get the drill out if its fine tomorrow) and the brakes and service where enough for January:thumb:

53 17 February 2011 10:44 PM

Cool, torques or similar will be back soon enough but in the short term I needed to sell them to buy a new gear box for my classic :)

SpecDscooby 18 February 2011 01:20 PM

Just been out the front washing mine too, yeah be good to see the pics.
Been thinking about getting a set for mine. But I was thinking just for the bottom grill. I've been playing around in photoshop.
What do you think !?!
Attachment 54808

SpecDscooby 18 February 2011 09:56 PM

I would saqy Warren the grills are high chrome finish, very bright......might not work just on the bottom, since you kinda going matt black top grills with high chrome bottom?.....i fitted my top 3 grills first and they looked good on their own though....

Go straight to Zunsport though (Zunsport are far from the cheapest place) i e-mailed them after GreatGonzo said he went straight to Zunsport too...the owner mailed me back with a very healthy discount code:).....i got all the grills for £30 more than the top Grill set on its own:)
