Got stopped for being a potential car jacker today!

Was in Munich today, on business.

On the way home this afternoon, going to the airport in a taxi we suddenly stopped, then two, reasonably attractive, undercover, female police officers came to the window, hands on guns, seeing if everything was ok.

I was oblivious as was writing an email while chatting to my Warehouse Contract Manager. I looked up, my first thought was, 'oh a police woman', as I saw the visible gun. I then thought, 'Nice ar$e' as that was all I could see from that angle. :D

Doors were opened, luckily the police ladies realised pretty quickly that we are quite inoffensive, I think by the bemused looks on our faces, but mainly because the taxi driver said all is well.

Turns out that the taxis there have a panic button that sets off a light outside the taxi, which other people can see and therefore come to your aid. Our driver had inadvertly turned his on so was as clueless as we were. :Whatever_ He was then quite sheepish, even when I tipped him at the airport and thanked him for the excitement. :D

I thought it was quite smart. I reckon we were being followed for quite some time, as another taxi had blocked our path, just as the Police moved in, so some sort of coordinated action. :thumb:

Livened up an otherwise ordinary day.

LOL at the pics. I said attractive, not fantasy figures! :lol1:

I did wonder that, for such a safe country, there are a lot of armed police around?

Those of you who live there, Wurzel? Any reason why?

Aren't we 1 of the few countries to still have a non armed police force? Sorry, but armed cops never have bothered me.

I saw a march in Berlin once which was going to the big Synagogue and when a bunch of skinhead Nazi youths tried to break up the march, the coppers waded in immediately and the attack was instantly averted. Those skinheads never stood a chance and it was a painful experience for them. No apparent problem with "Human Rights"

We could do with a bit of that over here.
