Recirc question
i was advised to get a recirc valve to replace vta valve to get rid of an idle problem i had, revs dropping before returning when coming to a stop.
the recirc has stopped this but car doesent feel the same. might be phycological but not sure. the valve is adjustible but cant see this making a difference. |
They usually run smoother, as the MAF sensor is measureing the air you are venting to atmosphere and adding fuel to suit. Each time you change gear you end up with an over fuel momentarily with VTA

That's because it is 'not' running the same now.

i have a blitz dv on mine and have no problems but on my last scoob when i went back to recirc the car was better to drive and seemed a tad better in the gear change
|
Re-circ for me aswell. The Baileys i had on mine made the car run like a sack of ****!
|
I had a Baileys dump valve, i got fed up with the sound and took it off, i then realised the car run a lot smoother with the recirc.
Thanks Sam |

cheers guys,
she runs great and mapper happy with how she runs, it's just the dropping revs. it probably is smoother but ive always had a vta on her (first mod i did) so thats just what im used to i suppose. i think i'll keep it recirc for a while and see if i get on with it. i do miss the noise though, i guess its the 5 year old in me. :) |
Im the same, I love the SSQV on the impreza but I think the time has come to put the O.E valve back on as im not keen on the over fuelling and little pops the VTA causes.

?????????????????????????
The whole purpose of mapping the car is to get the fuelling right. With a VTA the car will be momentarily rich when the throttle is lifted for instance when you make a gear change but it is only for an instant. It does make the car more difficult to map but it should not be generally over rich if it has been mapped excepting for the instant when the BOV works. |

Sorry mate, you have lost me. If it is properly mapped it won't be over fuelling and it won't be over revving.
