final drive of 1:1.1 and dccd

Hi,
I've got a forester and I am thinking of putting 5mt dccd transfer case.
does anyone know if my funny final 1.1 could be swapped from my transfer?
a member here is selling dccd box but he is slow on responding to PM's, anyone else has a 5mt dccd transfer case for sale? :D

dccd and transfer case are two separate bits, but they usually come together in a sale so just get both.

The main thing is that if you swap to a 1:1 then your front and rear diffs will need to be the same ratio.

that's what I suspected. Now I wonder if the gears/shafts involved are interchangable :|

You need to get the whole transfer case from the DCCD donor box as the DCCD drop gears are different from the non DCCD drop gears. i.e you cant drop a DCCD diff unit into a non DCCD transfer case.

Where would you buy a dccd transfer case ?
This stuff seems to appear in for sale forums like once a year :|

They usually come together as a "dccd box" as I said above. They are not generally sold separately - my comment was about making sure all the ratios matched when buying the box (including the transfer bit)

Make sure your front diff matches your rear diff after taking into account the transfer gear ratios - see here.

You can put a DCCD transfer case onto a non dccd 752 or 754 front case all you have to ensure is you calculate the correct ratio to ensure you match the rear diff with the box you have just made.

I am also pretty sure that all DCCD transfer gears were 1:1 although someone may correct me on that one. There have been a few DCCD transfer cases sold on here from gearboxes where the front end has let go. If you do swap one onto your current box you will need to change your rear diff as an example if your current FD is 3.9 then with 1:1.1 drop gears your rear diff will be a 3.54. If you go to a DCCD transfer case then your FD of 3.9 with 1:1 drop gears would need a 3.9 rear diff, which if you are running an R160 rear diff will be an issue. So really you need to think about what you have fitted, what you would create by fitting a DCCD transfer case and if the resultant ratio gives you a rear diff option.
It might well be easier to just fit a full DCCD box and matching diff.

Exactly what I was on about but just couldn't be fecked to explain it all...

I had a P1 with the oem 754 5 speed and I swapped the viscous centre diff and transfer box for a dccd plus it got wired up. Easy in a P1/ StiV as the front and rear diffs are both 4.44.

I then swapped that set up out for a 6 speed dccd with a 3.9 front diff, so had to change the back axle to match

According to service manual my front diff is 4.444 and rear 4.111 with transfer gearing of some 1:1.1. So called EU/UK Forester Turbo. With transmission oil cooler if you believe.
getting transfer case+rear diff seems to be just the least expensive as I need transport across europe.
Fat Boy, any dccd stuff for sale? :)

That is all true for that spec car (including the oil cooler), so just get a 4.1:1 FDR box (WRX?) and put the DCCD transfer case in that.

What you would need given that your FD is 4.44 is a rear 4.44 diff when using a DCCD transfer case with 1:1 drop gears.
