Deal or no deal...

...do they deliberately choose people who are clueless and innumerate?!

What were the odds of that bird having £250,000 3-in-a-row?

HAHAHAHA you stoopid fcukin' bitch :D

zip106 05 January 2011 05:45 PM

Aren't the ones who watch this drivvel the clueless and innumerate?

:)

What is this 'deal' you speak of?

It's one of my favourite shows ;)

zip106 05 January 2011 05:48 PM

As I say...

:)

stilover 05 January 2011 06:06 PM

I'd love to go on this show. Watch it most nights.

The problem with some people, is they just don't know when to quit.

Fine line between risk and greed.

Terminator X 05 January 2011 10:18 PM

People are greedy ...

... that's what makes it a good show

TX.

A lad I used to train with years ago got on, got to 2 boxes, £100k and £1 and gambled....... And lost

Leslie 06 January 2011 10:07 AM

Noel Edmunds irritates me.

Well the odds are 1 in 22 x 22 x 22 which is less than a 1 in 10000 chance.

However that actual occurence wasn't what was important in that game as only that game's events pertained to the player not the previous 2 and all were mutually exclusive events.

I.e. just because she had it the previous two days didn't make it any more or less liikely she would have it on the third day. So the chance at the start of the game was 1 in 22 but of course by the time they are down to 2 boxes it is 1 in 2....

Therefore the player had a chance to leave with a guaranteed 70K or gamble 50/50 between 250K and 15K. The only question she had then to answer to herself was whether the disappointment of losing out on the 250K for 70K was less or more than the disappointement of losing 70K for 15K and while it easy to judge from here we do not know her situation and what those amounts would mean to her.

I think it would be a brave person who would turn down the 70K and go for the gamble as to most of us 70K is a lot of money.

Just my thoughts.

SinghSuperStud 06 January 2011 10:53 AM

What annoys me is they get all excited that they've eliminated only crappy amounts in a round but then I'm thinking ..... the odd's of you getting a high amount have just gone up!! :cuckoo:

It's completely pot luck and is a cleverly designed game - you have to give them that.

Also - I really don't think that once you've dealed you still need to play the game as you would've - yes, ok you can see if you beat the banker but are you truly sure that if you'd not dealt that's exactly how you'd have played? I think not :)

billythekid 06 January 2011 11:01 AM

I have wached it a few times, seems to me that if you can get near £25k offer from the banker near the start its probably a good idea to take it as its rare for anyone to come away with more than 25k.

There is a lot of psychology that goes on, IIRC they keep them all in a hotel and I think they look very closely at who is friends with who etc etc.

Yes, but the less low amounts they have the better the deals from the banker,

nickwrxstiV2 06 January 2011 01:01 PM

I was meant to be on the show. Passed both auditions and had the phonecall form the director just before xmas 2009. Work wouldn't let me have the 3 weeks off it takes to film! Absolutely gutted!

Nick.

15K would of done me:thumb:. I would have to of gone for it.:lol1:
You go on with no stake, and end up with a 50/50 chance of 250K, i should fukkin coco!

It's the ones that have a 'system' that crack me up!!:cuckoo:

Mitchy260 06 January 2011 02:45 PM

Id love for someone just to go left to right or 1-2-3-4-5-6.....

I hate all this holding hand stuff, ''you're a legend John'' and the idiot banker who just plucks numbers out of thin air whilst giving you a big story about doing so, respect the banker and all this pis*

They drag 5mins out into 45mins +. Give Noel the numbers, open the boxes and get through 4 or 5 people per show and it would be more entertaining.

How do people get off work long enough to go on the show? I cant stand it personally, winds me up something chronic.

Trout 06 January 2011 02:55 PM

It is the premise that something totally random has personality and structure!!

zip106 06 January 2011 02:57 PM

I'm going to try and watch this - is it on today?

Guess that answers the original question then, pretty much everyone on there must be unemployed / on benefits as the rest of us workers couldn't justify taking three weeks off work to be on a game show :cuckoo:

Yeah about 4 on 4.

The key word there is 'try'. Don't build your hopes up.:lol1:

He always offers low to begin with anyway just to keep them in the game ie they're not likely to accept his initial offers.

bioforger 06 January 2011 07:25 PM

lol hooked in and caught as they say ;)

Trout 06 January 2011 07:30 PM

:D

huzzy1 06 January 2011 08:23 PM

I went and watched this in Bristol last February. Me Nana loves the show so I applied for tickets and got them. It was screened 11th July (World Cup Final day) and was actually quite a good day out. They film 2 shows aday so most contestants are only there for 3 weeks maximum.

Trout 06 January 2011 09:02 PM

If there are 15 boxes and two shows a day how does it take three weeks?

The upside is that there is always a bit of totty in the group (as well as some old character and someone's gran). Not a bad way to spend a couple of weeks in a Premier Inn ;)

22 boxes= 11 days, film 5 days a week = 2 weeks and one day, hence why I said maximum of 3 weeks.
