Any Architects or self Builders on here?

My wife and I are looking at possibly buying a plot of land to build our own home on. Obviously we're a long way off even considering putting an offer in, however there are a few questions I'd like to ask regarding the process of a self build house.

I'd be grateful if anyone who does this for a living or has completed their own self build would PM me so I can bend your ear ;)

Cheers :thumb:

Neither an architect, nor a self builder (though I intend to one day), but I do work for a building company... feel free to ask away!

Ground source heat pump and under floor heating - anyone building a new house and not installing this type of heating as oil is about to breach the $100/bbl again is missing a trick.

My mate installed his (coiled pipe in trench), plus the underfloor heating for £9.5k.

I did do a step by step thing in the DIY section if someone cares to find it.
