Toad alarm key fob
Hi when I bought my current wrx it came fitted with a toad ai606 alarm system. It came with 2 fobs, but only one had a battery in it when I bought it. Put a new battery in it when got it home but it doesn't worn at all.
Been searching all over the net for info, but all I've found out is that it will probably require me buying another fob direct from toad, but that I will also require a 4 digit pin number to code the fob! Well I never got any pin codes when I bought the car, all I got was a fitting cert. Just wondered if anyone else hs faced this problem and if so what sort of money is involved? Was thinking I might be cheaper just to get a new alarm system installed instead. Had a cobra on last scoob and was hassle free and easy to sync new fobs. Toad alarms however seem ****e |
There may well be a little sticker on the control box, thats where I got mine from a few years ago on my 101cl (or whatever model it was)
|
Ah sound mate where was your control box located? Cheers
|
Mine also stopped working last week now i have to use a key:brickwall, god knows why it doesnt work i have tried both fobs but nothing.
Toad are sh*te but clifford are no better |
Yea mate I'm thinking that myself eh. Last scoob had a cobra system on it and I had no probs at all. Even programming another fob was Childs play
|
Box can be anywhere as they move it around to lessen the chance of it being overriden, mine was behind the glovebox though.
|
Sound buddy I'll have a wee look the morro. Cheers for the info

Why do you all say Alarm ****e Toad are a market leader and i have fitted them for over 15 years
Easy to use and easy to programme if you have your pin code those that dont i can get it for you 1 non working remote and alarm needs replacing naaaaa Most companys will do divulge info on any alarms you will have to go to your local dealer for him to sort it or bite your lip and get in touch with me Ian |

Oh and another point, when I phoned toad direct to try and get some info, they instantly implied that my spare remote must be faulty and that I should buy a new one from them at a ridiculous price! Cheers toad, but managed to get my "broken" one working by finally getting in contact with previous owner and getting pin number.

I have fitted Toad for over 15 Years and as a mobile fitter i will not fit alarms that I am not happy with
I Fit Toad Laserline Cobra Gemini Sigma Scorpion and never had a problem when you fit it correct So yes my main one is Toad i.e. the name But i will will stick up to a great Manufacturer and a Company If you purchased a Vacuum cleaner and was out of warranty then the Vacuum company will not talk to you they will advise you to go to your retailer then you will get sorted out If not then report that retailer to the company if they are not bothered go to the top person Ass will get kicked !!!! I have had toad fitters kicked off for bad workmanship I pride my self in customer satisfastion support Search MR_TOAD and you will find perfect comments we are not all fly by nights Ian |
i agrre with most i also fit alarms have done for 15+ years i fit anything from all companies even the ebay rubbish i always say the work is top notch but if the alarm fails through no fault of install, 99% of alarms will be hassle free for years and with regular servicing they can last the life of a car in some cases, i think there like clothes you were a certain brand because u like how it feels and looks but the all do the same, same with alarms they all do the same just the name on the fob, and remember if they want it they will take it, just needs a low loader.....as i know all to well thats why i got into alarms

I am also on the Mits Evo site with Cobra alarms as standard Loads of complaints but to be honest I bet most of you moan at work about the company regardless of how good it is and what it pays you British way im afraid but most will not complain to the right people or find out who they are Just moan about this and that  To be honest not having a go at anyone just reality all products have faults that is a given but it is how you service those people Manufactures wont talk to us small people they want you to go via your dealer Same as your Top boss gets your line manager to bollock you he wont be arsed to talk to you its not his job Gees long winded hope this makes sense Problems on Alarms Please contact me MR_TOAD or MR_TOAD_INSTALLER www.mobilecaralarms.com I try to help Regards Ian |
