As the title asks, how many GTi-R owners use the scoobynet forums

Almost, managed to find a good westie before I could find a good GTi-R, so I got one of them instead.

skiddusmarkus 10 April 2002 07:21 PM

I am.Had it nearly 3 years now,lots of mods.

nisr227 10 April 2002 10:09 PM

Another GtiR owner here, currently running 276bhp @ 0.95 bar with slipping clutch at Powerstation the other day. A lot of people diss them, usually cause they have't driven a correctly setup one with the correct mods. I have nothing but praise for them, except for the gearboxes!

RichardPON 11 April 2002 02:08 PM

My Dad has one.

Wizzbang - you didn't sell a red one a while ago did you?

Wizzbang 11 April 2002 05:37 PM

Yes Rich I did, is your dad still happy with it. I got bored without one and had to buy another which Ive just got.

skiddusmarkus 11 April 2002 07:37 PM

Mine just made 333bhp and 290lb/ft on 16.5psi.Just need an oil cooler now as I've done the suspension and brakes and a bit to the engine.

memski 12 April 2002 01:41 PM

me :) Standard engine wise, running 0.65bar - wheels and suspension soon to be changed tho ;)

skiddusmarkus 12 April 2002 04:29 PM

Memski-what suspension are you going for? Can't reccomend highly enough the powerstation bumpsteer kit with or without other mods.

RichardPON 12 April 2002 05:17 PM

So what's the deal with GTiR OC then?

Cos I've found it's non-existent compared to the RSOC and SIDC. I know the numbers are less, but I want to get involved with a club.

skiddusmarkus 12 April 2002 05:29 PM

Try 200plus club-loads of gtir owners in that and lots of evnts organised throughout the year, first show at Donny tomorrow.

Wizzbang 12 April 2002 05:33 PM

The main gtiroc is based on yahoo groups (emails) and is mainly a technical resource from other owners (it is VERY helpful 'cause there aint that many owners out there with experience with a car this complicated) with seperate groups for meets etc.

Rich, has your dad done anything to the R at all or had it on a RR ??

RichardPON 12 April 2002 05:46 PM

He took some of the stereo out cos it's not really his cup of tea, and is looking at some gauges for the car.

What about your new one? Spec etc?

skiddusmarkus 12 April 2002 08:51 PM

You're clutch will definitely go then at 1 bar.Sounds like a good suspension setup planned.I went for the adj konis(I do 50/50 country and dual carriageway)with whiteline kit, bumpsteer kit and strut braces with several polybushes.Best results got from bumpsteer kit though.Car is like a go-kart now-I'd imagine yours to be even more so when finished.

rocky 12 April 2002 09:32 PM

I've got a 92 black'un.315bhp kosei seneka rg's.a lot more bits, but cant be arsed typing

memski 13 April 2002 11:25 AM

I wanted the Whiteline handling kit on too, but finances won't allow :( So you noticed more of a difference with the bumpsteer kit? Cool, made the right choice :D

Will probably have to get the standard clutch replaced soon anyhow so might still go for the 1bar upgrade if I can avoid going on boost :o seems to slip on 4krpms as power comes on then grips and pulls you away.
*makes mental note "Leave lead boots at home"*

nisr227 13 April 2002 12:44 PM

What Powerstation's bump steer kit consist of then? How much? And can you fit it before fitting the whiteline kit?

skiddusmarkus 15 April 2002 11:00 PM

Rose jointed track rod ends which are raised(I think)and a few bolts. Not much really but it's not what you get it's what it does.

RichardPON 04 December 2002 03:04 PM

Neil,

Yeah, my Dad absolutely loves it!!!!!

And don't worry, he takes good care of it. With my brother and myself both owning cossies, he's been taught how to look after a turbocharged car!

Not a slow one either is it?!!!!!
