Replacement Key Fob

Hi guys, iv lost my only fob for my impreza sport, any ideas how to go about gettin a replacement and how much its likely to cost? Unable to drive until i have a new one.

Cheers

had my spare one from the local subaru dealer mate, it cost me about £80 with programing. you will have to take in the log book and some ID as well just to prove you own the car or they may not give you a replacement fob

how will they program it if i cant get the car to them? are all the dealers shut this week, tried three ways and silverstone by me and no answer

Do you know the PIN for the alarm?
If not, could be expensive?

Check the documentation you got with the car, might possibly be in with your alarm instructions(mine were),and you may find a sigma sticker with a 4 digit pin. The 1st thing i did when i found mine was reprogram it to a pin i would remember that way incase i loose my fob i always know what the pin is . Failing that you can try subaru uk ,who may have a record of it.

Assuming, of course, that a previous owner hasn't changed it since then...!

Just as an FYI, I've just bought two fobs from a guy on here for less than £30.. as said if you have the pin then they are easy to program ..

Can I ask how much you paid to get it sorted?

joey_turbo 31 December 2010 03:59 PM

There a re few guides on here. I've enever paid to get it sorted. But there was a thread recently about a replacement fob costing 300quid because the PN wasn't know.

It would be cheaper to replace the unit surely ?

joey_turbo 31 December 2010 10:46 PM

Most likely, but what do you think the average person will do when already been charged whatever an hour by subaru, and they just want their car working?

WOW , thats a good money spinner !!!! for a fob !!!

Even if i dont know the pin you can still code them ... , and you can get the pin from subaru (most of the time).

The new fobs are different now to , seam to be a lot stronger , smaller , 3 led's at end of fob , and no seperate battery conpartment at the bottom ,

rich
