Replacement Key Fob
Hi guys, iv lost my only fob for my impreza sport, any ideas how to go about gettin a replacement and how much its likely to cost? Unable to drive until i have a new one.
Cheers |
had my spare one from the local subaru dealer mate, it cost me about £80 with programing. you will have to take in the log book and some ID as well just to prove you own the car or they may not give you a replacement fob
|
how will they program it if i cant get the car to them? are all the dealers shut this week, tried three ways and silverstone by me and no answer

i coded mine myself instructions are on the net not sure if poss if you havnt got the orginal one tho as i was coding an extra fob .. you will need to check |

Just as an FYI, I've just bought two fobs from a guy on here for less than £30.. as said if you have the pin then they are easy to program .. Can I ask how much you paid to get it sorted? |
There a re few guides on here. I've enever paid to get it sorted. But there was a thread recently about a replacement fob costing 300quid because the PN wasn't know.

It would be cheaper to replace the unit surely ? |
Most likely, but what do you think the average person will do when already been charged whatever an hour by subaru, and they just want their car working?

WOW , thats a good money spinner !!!! for a fob !!! Even if i dont know the pin you can still code them ... , and you can get the pin from subaru (most of the time). The new fobs are different now to , seam to be a lot stronger , smaller , 3 led's at end of fob , and no seperate battery conpartment at the bottom , rich |
All the best, Jeff |
